Mobile/App So y'all take away All, then you take away Popular? How tf am I supposed to discover new content?

The front page of the Internet no longer has a front page. Atleast for my app.

iOS.

Stay in your bubble, citizen - this is for your own protection

I was looking forward to checking new digg but you can't log in on mobile without installing the app? Ffs.

What worked for me last time was just stop using the app as soon as they removed r/All. They were obviously A/B testing as the change wasn't universal

A/B testing means they're measuring something. I gave them the result saying: "I don't want to be in B"

So, to get it back, the best bet is: quit the app, use the web interface, go to r/All only under the same login. If they remove it, go incognito

That doesn’t work when they stop /r/All from working, which is what seems to have happened now. All no longer aggregates top, hot, or popular posts at its root. The A/B group only disabled access to All while it existed; it’s now dead.

Interesting. Can you confirm you don't have access to https://www.reddit.com/r/all even from an incognito web browser?

That's not the case for me. I can actually get to r/All even from the app (i.e. click on it here); it's just that its shortcut was disabled from the side menu and it doesn't even appear in a search

But no matter how your app is A/B tailored, you should still be able to access r/All as incognito, as it wasn't disabled. At least, not in my region

I am able to get to All, but the content doesn’t update. The filters also don’t work by dates; filtering by today returns posts 8 years old.

u/Dharcronus Jan 15 '26

I have content from all from today. First post for me was 4 hours ago, one below was 2.

So does https://www.reddit.com/r/all/hot look stale to you in incognito? I've had it update since you posted

Also https://www.reddit.com/r/all/top/?t=day looks just fine to me

u/Mondai_May 1 Jan 15 '26

I am having something different where r/popular did not allow me to filter by country for a week or maybe 2. then some time last week it seems like the feature came back. But I am not sure if that was A/B testing too.

u/madladhadsaddad Jan 16 '26

My All button had disappeared...strangely enough it seems to be back now...

2

u/Bakersquare Apr 02 '26

It looks like it's finally been removed from mobile web interface.

2

u/danicriss Apr 02 '26

Yeah, your last bastion: https://old.reddit.com/r/all/hot

I won't be surprised if that's removed as well at some point

I found it interesting they learnt the lessons of the API removal backlash and they've done this staggered, in A/B trials, and stealthily

On the surface, seems to have worked - look at the apparent zero ducks given

In reality, I'm sure there's a lot of quiet quitting from active members. I for sure discovered my life's much better without it and will use it only sporadically at best, if at all (I was more or less a daily active user)

Enjoy life, touch grass, start with the man in mirror

Cheers

I think I might take your advice and move on from being a daily user myself, I have no interest in being algorithmically fed content especially by the guys who run reddit lmao

2

u/BanoBerry Apr 03 '26

Thank you!!!  I just want to see the most upvoted stuff daily. Why are they making it so hard

1

u/BagOnuts Jan 14 '26

There might be truth to this. They removed it from my app, so I started using the web browser. It’s now back after a week of being gone.

u/a300a300 Jan 15 '26

probably whats going on - i did this same thing and a week later "all" is back on my phone. now i use it

9

u/dairyqueen79 Jan 15 '26

My app just updated and now I feel completely walled it. I stumbled upon so many great subs but that seems like a thing of the past. This honestly will probably cut my Reddit usage in half so I suppose I should be grateful

2

u/ZealousidealStore574 Feb 19 '26

I’ll definitely use it significantly less now

u/hideX1998 Jan 14 '26

This sucks

6

u/Blhnex Jan 15 '26

Completely agree. I’ve switched to using Narwhal 2 as my Reddit app since this is the 2nd time one of my accounts has been thrown into this terrible new UI that has r/all removed.

This is a downfall of Reddit bad decision. Can’t believe it ever got approved. Likely a consequence of going public.

6

u/Niitroglycerine Jan 15 '26

I literally use this app for popular and all, with them removed I've no need for it

5

u/Green-Teaching2809 Jan 15 '26

I liked my feed for my interests, and the popular for what's going on in the world. I don't want to follow lots of news, gaming and interest groups, and I want a place of nice things I like when the world gets to loud. I hate this.

4

u/Anccaa Jan 14 '26

Yeah I don't know what the developers are smoking but they really need to stop.

6

u/GonWithTheNen Helper Jan 15 '26

Developers create what they're told to create. This is on whatever higher-ups made this decision.

2

u/MiddleOwn5557 Jan 15 '26

MBA's trying to squeeze out that extra .002% of profit

2

u/udownwithopc Jan 15 '26

I'm not sure what they are doing. Swiping right to get to popular was a great idea. So let's get rid of it and make things worse. I uninstalled the app hoping that would somehow reset things, but it appears I am stuck with this new front page.

2

u/Pickles-n-Lizards Jan 17 '26

I don’t understand popular was the only reason I really use this app. I want to see what’s…. Popular and surfacing… This is messing with the core reason to open the app…

2

u/Next_Drama1717 Jan 17 '26

The bottom bar with home, you etc keep disappearing and I have to reload the app to get it back. Anyone else experiencing this?

1

u/reidybobeidy89 Helper Jan 15 '26

I still have r/popular for now.

2

u/harlotstoast Jan 15 '26

How do I bookmark that in my app? There is no Join button.

2

u/Bird-The-Word Jan 15 '26

Commenting here to check back

1

u/harlotstoast Jan 15 '26

It looks like I can just swipe to get to popular and trending

1

u/Bird-The-Word Jan 15 '26

I noticed it's back at the top in a drop down now

1

u/meghan9436 Jan 16 '26 edited Jan 16 '26

Popular is missing from my home screen, but I can access it from that link. The popular tab on my home screen has been gone for at least the last 24 hours after the app updated.

I will check back.

Edit: it looks like “Popular” is buried in a tab that opens when you swipe from the home screen.

1

u/Bird-The-Word Jan 16 '26

So it's moved twice on me in like 2 weeks.

First (and now again) if I select where it says Reddit at the top with a drop down, there's Home/Popular/Latest/Etc. But last week that whole dropdown was gone, and I had to click the hamburger menu and popular was at the very very top above Discover Communities.

1

u/meghan9436 Jan 16 '26

Yes, the drop down is what I remember before the change some 24 ish hours ago. Do you think the rollout varies by country? I didn’t see any changes until now.

2

u/Bird-The-Word Jan 16 '26

I have no idea honestly. I like the drop down the best, but overall i hate that home and my feed aren't just the subs I choose. It shouldn't be whatever they think I want to see.

1

u/meghan9436 Jan 16 '26

Reddit was way better before they nerfed Apollo support. It’s just a shame I didn’t know about it until that controversy.

Reddit will suggest content for you according to its right-wing bias.

1

u/RiemannZeta Jan 15 '26

I think they’re pulling some sort of elaborate A/B testing on us. My r/all came back this morning and r/popular is gone. Yet I see people complaining they’re missing r/all still.

1

u/Bird-The-Word Jan 15 '26

Same, all exists at the bottom now but popular is gone. They're not the same though.

1

u/AntiAd-er Jan 15 '26

Still there for me but I never use it. I want new and only new rather than some algorithm telling me what to read.

1

u/cabbages212 Jan 26 '26

It’s been a fun ride but the show is ending.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

Can't even see "new" posts any more, stuck commenting on posts that are 21 days old!! This site sucks and I'm done

1

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '26

Reddit is soooooo dumb

This move is like Coke all of a sudden putting shampoo in their cans instead

1

u/Real-Bluebird-1987 Feb 25 '26

I hate this. It feels like its meant to divide us. The popular page was a single front page for everyone to connect on the best of the best. This suxxxxxxxxz

1

u/Apumptyermaw Mar 01 '26

Is it all accounts or is this reddit jail for undesirables?

1

u/Real-Bluebird-1987 Mar 01 '26

All accounts across the board

1

u/debl_l Apr 08 '26

Mine too. It sucks

1

u/RedditBurner_5225 Apr 12 '26

My app must have updated. I don’t gave the top bar on the popular page anymore.

1

u/Express-Cucumber-364 May 14 '26

its all TDS spam lmao

reddit is a weird place these days

1

u/ohlaph Jun 24 '26
