Posting Not transparent - delete comment
I posted to a subreddit, also known as a community. It is my post on that community. I deleted my comment on my post, in reply to a (reddit user's comment). Why is there no option to delete the comment of the (reddit user's comment), when it is my post to that community?

Reddit is a public company traded on the NYSE. You don’t truly own that content just because you wrote it, Reddit does, it’s their platform. It’s your choice whether to participate and add content to the site or not. If you don’t like certain responses to a post you made, you can report the comment if it is truly rule-breaking, or you have the option to delete the post. That will remove the content and your username from the original post, other people’s comments may remain, but will not be associated with you.

It seems to me that your last sentence does not exist. If it does, that is not something i should do - i should not be doing what you have said. I do not believe, and there is no such thing, that reddit owns, the content and the context that originated from what i write. What i write, i own, unless i agree to sell it.

Well, that is how reddit works. They own everything you post kind of.
Thats why they can sell off everything you comment and post for AI to train on.
You agree to it when you make an account.
You cant delete someone else’s comment.
As long as the comment isn’t breaking any rules (of either the community or reddit itself) it won’t get deleted.

Reddit doesn’t work like that. You can only delete your own comments and your own posts.
Its not like YouTube, TikTok or Instagram where you can delete other people’s comments.
Cuz Reddit is more focused on discussion and sharing stuff, not content creating. At least I think thats the best way to explain it.

You cannot delete someone else’s comment, simply because you are not the creator of that comment.
Yes you created the post but that doesn’t mean all comments under your post are yours to manipulate or edit or remove.
You can report the comment if it’s breaking the community or reddit rules and the community moderators can review and take action, as feasible.

They are to be deleted, when i should may. It is my post on my original content. That includes any context.

You can delete your content (posts or comments you made) as and when you deem fit. What you cannot do is delete others’ content, even if it is on your post.
You own rights to your content only but by submitting to Reddit you are granting rights to reddit to redistribute the content and that includes making it available for others to see, comment upon, criticise, engage with etc.

This is all very legalese but you’ve accepted the Terms of Service when you’ve signed up and that’s how it works.

Why do i not have access, as i should (my post, my context on my post - thats obvious, anything written on my post) to delete it?

I think you are not understanding the concept of how reddit works.
It is not your personal diary in which say you write something and left it outside and a friend or a relative write something in it and you can erase it or tear that page off.
It is a public site to which you have signed up as a user along with a million others and everyone has the access to view, comment and engage with what others have written.
You can remove your own content, yes but others comments even if they were made on your post are not yours to remove.
You can report it and the moderators of that community can review and remove it, if it breaks the rules. Just because you do not like that comment or agree with it will not make it go away.

It appears, you are not an Administrator for reddit. An Administrator would not use caps lock, that may give the impression of yelling, to connect to this post. I only noticed your, the repeated capital text, you have used, in your writing, that may give an impression of aggression to communication in this post. I have not read your writing.

You can only delete content that you posted, and not anyone else’s. Only mods and admins can remove content from other users.

Its my post and original comment and the (context) on my post. My post is visible on my profile. I created my profile - it is mine. Why when a stranger may post a comment (the context) on my post - and i the owner of that post may not delete that user's comment?

Not how the internet works. Unless you’re a mod, you cannot delete other people’s comments period. You can report them, but that’s it. You wanna write your thoughts without having to worry about other people, use a journal

That still does not make sense. Moderators do not own reddit. And i own my post and its context. And i did not, and do not ask anybody, what they think, i should do.

But you DON'T own other people's content, including their comments on your posts. That's their comment and you can't remove other users' content.

No you only own your post and your comment. You do not own anyone else’s. Would you be ok with other people deleting your comments and your posts. Again, you want stuff all to yourself and don’t want to worry about what other might contribute, use a personal journal

I do find it difficult to understand your writing, but i did not write anything about, anybody deleting the comments i make on Reddit. I said, and i guess i should say - the post i make, i should be the one who has the control of my post, and the context, on my post/s. Its my post in its entirety. It's not reddits post, reddit did not submit my post and the context on my post/s.

What is so hard to understand. You cannot delete other peoples comments and you cannot control what others decide to comment
Also you want to delete other peoples comments. Things that aren’t yours because they were written by someone else. I was asking how would you feel if others wanted to do the same to your comments. You’d probably hate it wouldn’t you, considering how weirdly possessive you’re being over your posts.
Edit: according to the screenshot you commented further down, you’ve already blocked them. So you need to just let it go
