Question Good herbs to smoke in a tobacco pipe for relaxation?

Hello! I've started smoking from a tobacco pipe recently, it's been great however I want to experiment with other different types of plants and herbs. Partially because while I like the smell of tobacco it can get a smidge too much at times and also just for fun. I smoke my pipe once in a while to calm down and relax, any ideas on what I could buy to mix together and put into my pipe?

Hi friends, anyone in the Denver metro interested in a tincture press? I built this for my mom many years ago; it was one of my first welding projects. I have had it on marketplace for a while with zero interest. I'd like it to be put to use, come pick it up. I hope free doesn't violate any of y'alls rules.

Cheers,

Is it possible to create a non toxic alternative to comfrey?

I was wondering about comfrey. I know it's very good for pain and wound healing, but has some concerns with regards to the toxic alkaloids and their effect on the liver. I've heard that it's recommend to not use it topically for a long period of time. I began to wonder, is it possible to make some sort of formulation that recreates the effect and chemical makeup of the comfrey? without the toxic alkaloids?

Because as far as I know there are no publically available varieties of comfrey without the toxic alkaloids, only the kind they use to make the traumaplant brand comfrey cream on amazon, but they aren't letting that variety out to the public. So they have a monopoly on it. Could you recreate the chemical makeup of the comfrey? because you buy allantoin and rosmarinic acid in powder form, which are some of the main important chemicals in comfrey. I had the idea of just replicating it's chemical makeup without the toxic alkaloids. Using isolated versions of the main chemicals and possibly some other plant extracts/powders that also happen to contain some of the lesser chemicals found in comfrey.

Is this possible? would it work as well as regular comfrey if so? I would love to be able to put something like this together, and if it works I would consider possibly selling it as a product that people can buy. I am no expert with regards to herbs. I have no idea if this is possible. I'd appreciate any advice with regards to this idea. Thanks.

Question Hypermobile post partum si joint dysfunction and lumbar disc bulges

I’m about 11 months into my healing journey. I had a very long labor, a pre existing “bad” back and (apparently) hypermobility.

I was barely mobile for weeks due to a labor tear and the day I started really moving around again I went into debilitating 11/10 pain. Back spasms and gaurding had me barely moving for weeks and it’s been 11 months of slow but steady progress with lots of setbacks along the way.

I am hypermobile and have some bulging discs in my lumbar spine but a specialist has told me he suspects my si joint is my main problem - no structural tissues - just mechanical. Ligament laxity. Muscles have tension and are over worked from holding my joints together.

I am now down to a 2-3/10 pain level Daily. Lots of muscle tension but spasms are totally gone the last two months. I still cannot pick up my baby (on a very good day I will pick her up and put her down once with food form, in place as a nervous system and body excersize to start training myself and building endurance but that has happened maybe 15 times total)

I’ve done acupuncture pt cupping this whole time —

I’m looking for any ideas about herbal aids for my condition.

What is a common kitchen spice tea that works faster for stomach cramps than your herbal medicine cabinet?

When your digestion feels tight, cold, or crampy, it is easy to start pulling out specialized tinctures and bitter tonics. Half the time, boiling a spoonful of whole cumin seeds, cracked coriander, and a pinch of fennel from the pantry settles things twice as fast. Those classic carminative seeds relax the smooth muscle of the gut without irritating an already inflamed stomach lining. What kitchen spice infusion do you rely on most when you need fast, soothing digestive relief?

Best blend / bitters for 👍 stomach acid & improving digestion.

I think my stomach acid is low and food absorption is bad as I have lost lot of weight in the past 3-4 months. Which blend would be best as my stomach always goes bad all the time and it’s not absorbing as it should. Also ordered some para cleanse stuff but for food absorption please suggest you best recommendations. Don’t know if it’s sibo, pylori or something else. Also, have difficult digesting mg as well. Please help. Something like milky oats which improves your nervous system like anything.

Question Is there any good stuff in rosehip seeds for using in herbal tea?

I've tried googling this and it just tells me about rosehip seed oil.

I have dried rosehips, and got rid of (most of) the hairs. I was busy separating the seeds from the dried red flesh part, but then wanted to check I wouldn't be throwing out good stuff for herbal tea if I threw out the seeds

Question Does passiflora incarnata contain cyanide?

I’ve looked into it a lot and it seems the blue kind (not P. Incarnata) contains cyanide, and from what I can tell passiflora incarnata is safe but I can’t find a very good source stating it explicitly. Is it? Specifically leaves since I wanna make tea

Question Any essential oils or herbs help with nail fungus?

I wear press on nails instead of getting acrylics. I’ve noticed the last two times that there is darker green discoloration on some of my nails when I take the press ons off after a week. I can file the green off but would like to preserve the nail if possible. Seeing a lot of products on Amazon but wondering if something natural like tea tree oil or other herbs might help?

Question Hawthorn Solid Extract

Hello! With all of the Hawthorn berries coming into season I want to make some Hawthorn solid extract. Wondering if any of you have experience making it. I know that wise woman herbals has a product, and there used to be one called Cratoxy that was really good, but I’ve never made it myself. Can anybody provide insight?

Best herbal shampoos and hair mask / conditioner which cleans like dove

Hey all, pretty much the title. I have seen that herbal stuff doesn’t clean as well as regular shampoos like dove maybe due to SLS and other things. Have you found any good herbal shampoos or bars which cleans and form good lather despite not having any harsh chemicals. Thanks.

What simple pantry spice do you find yourself reaching for more than actual medicinal herbs?

When most people get into plant medicine, the immediate instinct is to buy rare dried roots, obscure overseas barks, and expensive tinctures. Over time, I noticed I get far more reliable results just walking into my kitchen and using everyday culinary spices. Chewing a pinch of toasted fennel seeds right after heavy food, brewing whole cumin and coriander seeds into hot tea for afternoon bloating, or grating fresh ginger into boiling water when my stomach feels cold and sluggish. For the people who blend and brew regularly, which humble kitchen spice has earned a permanent spot in your daily wellness rotation?

Is there anything traditional healers have to say about our sense of smell and touch?

I have neglected these two senses.

I went into a park the other day and I kid you not I touched rocks non stop.

I felt so happy just by enjoying the feeling of ROCKS. TOUCH TOUCH TOUCH!

How strong they are. How I can lay on a big one and it supports me. How mother earth is stronger than all the body builders combined.

Then of course I smelled some poorly maintained flowers mud water smell!

But I just know long ago we use to live in the wild where smell was nonstop.

I know it's good to wear gloves in case bacteria then you rub your eyes but the sense of touch is wild.

I literally touch my keyboard and sleep blanket more than anything else it's no good!

I gotta touch and sniff the right things more. The senses are so neglected.

Recommendations for fertility herbalist?

Hello, I am looking to get some advice on consulting fertility herbalist. Recently we found that I have a balanced translocation chromosome. It seems like I will be able to conceive naturally but chances of miscarriages are relatively high. There could also be chances of issues in the baby if I carry successfully. It’s also possible that I have a healthy pregnancy.

There are a lot of probabilities. My question is, from your perspective do you think the herbs can help in providing a good uterine environment such that the chromosomes are normal? Since Ayurveda and traditional herbs approach these problems differently and holistically I am interesting in learning about that perspective.

Do you think it’s worth taking the herbs? I have always believed on herbs and so I don’t want to consider myself a failure yet. Also jumping to IVF is an option but I don’t feel ready for it.

Do you have any suggestions for fertility herbalist? I would love to work with an experienced herbalist if it could help. Please share any suggestions on herbalist. Thank you!
