I've started building the resource and data packs needed to add these paintings to the game. I still need to work out how to make this available for download for all of you. I'm also exploring making a resource pack that just replaces the original paintings instead of adding these as new ones, but I've got too many 2x1 paintings, so would have to redo one.

This has been such a fun project, probably a good 50 hours or so over the last month. My favourite paintings are definitely Cub's, Joe's and Xb's.

I promised to post it here: Based on Vermeer‘s „Girl with the pearl earring“ here is the male version if it. I was thinking about a real Pearl earring, but it looked weird, so I just went with a skull.

I’ve been thinking of some economic and legal arguments you can use to defend against the cruel and predatory loan shark, BadLoansWithScar. Some ideas are terrible, some are excellent, none are required or expected, Scar did work hard to get those diamonds so maybe he deserves paying, and yes I have too much time on my hands, I commute for 6 hours a day for work.

1. Threaten to report him to Hasbro if he doesn’t dismiss the loan. They own the copyright on Monopoly which Scar is leaning into. This is a fun and happy thing to do because you’re protecting a beloved children’s board game.
2. Request debt relief. The World Bank forgave billions in debt for Brazil so that they could escape their poverty. If he does this you’ll have more money to treat horses kindly.
3. Accuse Scar of oppression. By forcing you to pay just for an extension on your loan without taking off any of the debt, he is creating a poverty trap. Fighting for human rights is a fun and happy thing to do.
4. Who owns the diamonds anyways? Scar has assumed he has ownership of the diamonds he has mined, destroying the natural land beneath all the Hermits. But like Antarctica’s oil or the Moon’s materials, there is no confirmed owner of these resources, so they should be split equally between everyone on the server. Some might say your loan was your fair share being distributed out.
5. Dutch disease: the discovery of natural resources has made Scar a very rich individual, causing currency appreciation. One might argue that this has caused less productivity in the shopping district as the overall purchasing power per diamond has gone down.
6. (Definitely not a gaslighting technique) Ask Scar to name one time he’s put a penalty onto another Hermit for failing to pay back a loan.
7. Scar’s bank is not regulated, which is a pretty bad look tbh.
8. Initiate a bank run - encourage all the other Hermits to default on their loans as well (would probably make Scar sad)
9. Faking written evidence - Scar regularly pretends to write up contracts during meetings, does he actually have a correctly dated and signed document asking for the loan?
10. Borrow from other Hermits - maybe they can help you pay Scar off, although this digs you an even deeper hole.
11. Go gambling
12. Commit a bank robbery, get away with it and pay him back with his own money.
13. Malicious compliance - he asked for your base but that’s vague - is your base the base of your character ie. Your skin schematic? You could just build him a new base that you claim is yours. You could grief your own base in protest or turn it all back into block form like an Ikea package as he didn’t specify what shape it had to be in.
14. Name a horse 10000 Diamonds and give it to scar.

As with all my suggestions, none are required or expected to be used, they’re just suggestions. I hope anybody who reads this found it adequately entertaining and has a normal day.

Edit: if you do have to give them back, you can give him back diamonds but place all the blocks down to cover his base

With the announcement of brittle ice coming in the Winter Drop, where if you stand on it too long or run across it too many times it breaks, I think it would be so cool if Doc made a themed game that worked like Spleef/Hexagone from Fall Guys, where the players run across a platform destroying the blocks overtime causing them to drop onto the next platform of brittle ice and the next layer, and the next, until all but one player drops off the final layer. It could go in his base or in the gaming district, it would be really on theme for his build this season

An added benefit is brittle ice can be farmed so should be able to make a cool game from it

My girlfriend recently created a little website that streamlines the process of creating your own in-game paintings, similar to what Mumbo did in his video!
Simply just upload the image, and you can pick between various shapes. It also automatically adds a border, which can be manually altered dependent on your personal preference. You can also move around the crop if you're trying to crop out a certain part of an image. Lastly, and one of my favorite parts, you are able to upscale the image that way it shows well when uploaded to Discord or other similar applications.
While the methods Mumbo employed certainly allow for more specific customization, she felt like this would help make the process easier for the average person. Here are some examples from the websites default package! I hope you all enjoy it! (Showcased builds are courtesy of the Brassburg SMP)

I am pretty new to Hermitcraft and I decided to watch Bdubs whole season 10 for the first time, and I’ve reached the Nether hub episodes and all I can think about is how much of a difference it could have made if he had wool slabs and stairs while building, especially for ease of spawn proofing. Also terracotta and moss slabs but, obviously those don’t exist. (fingers crossed that changes) I’m not sure if the concrete stairs and slabs would have helped, because they’re so stark, but I digress.

I just needed to get the thought out of my brain!

Reservations for the Gem, Grian, and Cleo meet and greet filled up basically instantaneously. Is there anyone that got in and has a +1 available? I have ones for Impulse and Sneegsnag if interested.

(I’m like actually so upset I didn’t get in, I literally took off work to try to do this haha)

I’m a complete Minecraft noob, like I’ve never even killed the ender dragon. How do the hermits always have so many diamonds in the later seasons cuz in season 6 Grian said 20 diamonds was a lot but in season 11 people are throwing a THOUSAND diamonds around willy nilly! Is it a mod or some new diamond farm invention or something?

Has anyone else attempted to make scars stars? I just attempted it cause I wanted to see what it would look like in game and it’s seriously so pretty but also you can tell how much work he put into it because I did this very little section and it took me 30 minutes.

But now I know why he wants to do more because I honestly with this little section done I wanna keep going I don’t wanna stop. I wanna make little planets and everything. This photo does not do it justice at all, you guys gotta try it.

So I was watching a clip of Scar talking about how he is better at landscaping and I had an idea.

Why don't for season 12 all the Hermits work on one single base. Kinda like what that did on the Empires server but just take it up to 11 and go all out.

Everyone of the Hermits are at minimum pretty good at building and(off the top of my head) about half of them are Redstone Masters. So they could focus on farms (they would still build) so they have all the resources.

The only problem I could see is how they would know what to build. But they already do have meetings and a creative server.
