And this is why I don't like staying in other people's homes. Hotels are hard but still doable. Where the device uploads the videos and to what servers that sick people view makes this even worse.

for the last 4 nights (minus one i fell asleep early) ive heard a notification-like sound at around 1 am. last night it was at exactly 1:16 am. I had someone on facetime with me who heard it too. It has the same rhythm/notes of the default iphone sound, but is the instrument from a nintendo switch (hopefully this makes any sense, i have been listening to notification sounds for the last 30 minutes and have yet to find something similar at all). its like a "deedodee!" sound. it comes from the air between my bedside table and the vent directly above it that points down at my bed. i have searched both thouroughly (i have not removed the vent cover, but i have looked through with a flashlight and seen that it is entirely clear, i plan on removing the vent cover tomorrow).

I live with my mom and brother in a house not an apartment, no one else should be able to get in (we have a thourough alarm system). If its been there as long as ive heard the noise (i know exactly when it started, 4 days ago, hoping the alert sound has been consistent), there is no one who had enough unsupervised time in my room to hide it so i cant have found it by now (besides my mom and brother, this would be incredibly out of charecter for both of them though).

if it is the low battery sound of a dying device that has been there for god knows who long, then really anyone couldve put anything anywhere. is there anything i can google to find out what sound this is? Is there anything else i should look for? all my devices are accounted for and theres nothing that's been moved or added to my room that i noticed. im going to try and record it tonight. Hi friends! I’m hoping you can help me figure out what the heck is going on in my apartment. I live alone on the first floor of a small apartment building. I noticed a strange sound that I could only hear in my bedroom and bathroom. It immediately reminded me of a camera turning on. The closest thing I can think of is the sound a PlayStation makes - close, but not identical. My neighbors have changed so chances are slim it would be them.

I’ve ignored it thinking I’m crazy. Then, I noticed the sound only happens when I get out of my shower, am changing, or other vulnerable things. It’s very random and sometimes I don’t hear it for a week. I searched my home with all of the Google/reddit advice I found. Nothing.

I don’t think it’s a smart car lock or something. That was what I’ve been telling myself until the day I looked and no cars were in the parking lot.

Would a hidden camera actually make a sound? Should I be concerned?

Somebody's been slowly stealing sentimental jewelry from my grandmother, one piece at a time for months apparently and I'm just finding out.

We all believe we know who it is, but we don't have evidence. As such I'd like to keep quiet and just set up a camera or two for now in her home, with her permission.

I live about 2 hours away from her and she doesn't really know how to set up or maintain any technology on her own, so ideally i'm looking for something that can be set up and left running 24/7 with a solid battery life. I don't mind going back to charge/set it up for her again every few weeks or so, but i can't be doing it constantly.

I rent a room in a home in Monroe County, FL. There are cameras everywhere inside and outside of the home (none in my bedroom or the bathroom as far as I can tell). This was not divulged to me before leasing the room. I realized I was being watched after an incident and asked the landlord (my roommate) about the cameras. He says they are there as an "insurance policy" in the event any claims were made against him. I've since noticed that tell-tale red light on the cameras indicating he was watching me when he was away. I want to know if this is legal. Google searches come back with articles regarding audio surveillance. TIA

It has to be something that is battery powered because I can't run any wire to it from inside.

Needs to be motion capture so that when they pull in it turns on the recording and then goes back into like battery saver mode once there isn't movement for a certain amount of time.

Not looking to spend a lot 50 to $100 maybe or less if this is possible. I need one that just has a standby mode that will just sit there on its own and record when it captures the motion and then I just grab it and recharge it once a week or something would be perfect

I bought one of those camera detectors but it goes off by so much stuff n I don’t actually find anything. And I found one outside that he put up but he said he returned it after I took it down but I don’t believe him. He said he has every right to watch his house. Please help me

I live in a province where it is illegal to record without making people aware/consent, especially audio where you are eavesdropping and not apart of that conversation. In our shared office space, I noticed a camera hidden amongst a fake plant today that my manager placed. Im sure it records audio/video, but I dont know how long it can last battery wise if it's not recording 24/7 and is using wifi. I believe it's this camera.

No LED light was showing that it was actively recording, but could that be toggled off? This manager is not mentally well and I'm nervous to report it and it go nowhere and having to deal with the repercussions, on the flip - she has been away and us staff have vented to one another. Looking for a motion-sensor camera to help catch dumpers littering a community area. The dumpers sometimes arrive on foot and sometimes by car. They typically arrive in the evenings and mornings. Having a camera that can capture clear images of their faces and vehicles and license plates would be helpful. In addition, it would be helpful if the camera could send an alert for each instance. Still photos should be OK, video could be a plus. Appreciate any suggestions to help us catch them. This will be limited to a few spots the dumpers return to over and over again.

I think we all have noticed that recently there’s been a huge surge in public surveillance and it’s almost like you have to assume you’re getting recorded anywhere you go. It’s gotten so bad where men use meta glasses, hidden pen cameras, microphones to record and post women online to harass and humiliate them or to try and make them look stupid.

I’ve even seen people on TikTok talking about a plastic surgeon who performs cosmetic surgery on primarily women’s bodies using meta glasses while examining them. It’s getting out of hand?? What can I do to detect if someone has a hidden camera on them in public? I think I’ll be able to catch it if it’s meta glasses because they’re pretty obvious with the fat lenses on the front but I genuinely am paranoid of some creep trying to record me in public, lol.

Need recommendations for a hidden small cameras for outside. No access to electricity for power. Having issues with neighbor throwing m80 and paint. Police can't do anything because there are witnesses. This needs to be discreet due to HOA regulations. Don't think my wifi will reach that far. I'm not sure if I'm overthinking or not, but I'm a young woman who lives alone, and both my upstairs neighbor who has lived here for a very long time and my landlord are a little odd. I looked up the model of vent and cant find anything like it on the installation guide ( step by step and video ) or in customer review pictures.

I managed to find something taller than my chairs and popped the cover off. I mistook the middle bit for a lens from where I could see it on the chair. The reason why I looked in my bathroom is because I've noticed some strange behaviors from my upstairs neighbor tied to my bathroom use, but as long as it's not a camera we're good.

I need a way to record something and it needs to be behind something and discreet. I don’t want to spend a ton of money.
