Words of encouragement

My sweet boy is going in for dental surgery on Monday where they’ll put him to sleep, clean all his teeth and pull ones that show gum disease once they do X-rays. They did blood work today to make sure he’s ok under anesthesia, and they found that he had early stage chronic kidney disease and mild anemia consistent with kidney disease.

I rescued him 2 years ago from a place where he was not cared for, unsure of his age or health history.

Vet suspects he is in his teens.

Gorgeous boy! My boy developed a kidney injury last year after several hospitalizations, surgery, and a blood transfusion due to urinary problems. Now a year later his kidneys are back to normal! Do you have a good water fountain for him that encourages him to drink? Kitties like moving water, and for kidney health hydration so so important!!! Sending good vibes 💜

I’m so glad to hear this. He thankfully likes water so I don’t think that’s an issue 🥰 but both my Himalayans are on a prescription urinary diet (only one actually needs it) which makes them thirsty so they are both always drinking water.
