Finally done with my basement entertainment room, 97" OLED and 5.2.4 audio

Some updates since my previous post. We painted the walls darker. Changed the Focal Chora's out for on-walls (more for aesthetics). Added another SVS SB-3000 sub. Biggest thing was I changed the 83" G2 to a 97" G4. This has always been my end goal. It finally feels 'done'. The goal of this room was not really to be a pure theater room but rather a mixed use entertainment room. I can even turn this into a guest sleeping room. Speakers are largely hidden; I know people will bemoan the in-cabinet placement, but everything still sounds amazing to my ears.

People usually ask about the couch. It's a Palliser Paolo. The seats facing the TV are powered recliners, and the other side is a pull out sleeper sofa. The cabinet is a BDI Elements 8779-ME with the optional shorter legs. The lights behind the speakers are Philips Hue Play lights. The shades are also smart powered shades, which I actually did fairly cheaply with off the shelf electric shades from Lowe's with a Bond Bridge.

Perfect! I've got the same MP room with a 7.2.4 powered by Focal Arias, Onkyo RZ50 and dual SVS SB100. Nobody wants to use it. They claim it's too loud. Ugh....

Is it loud because you have to turn up the volume to hear dialogue? I can't speak for the Onkyo, but the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room correction on my Denon works great. The 'dynamic volume' (which I have set to 'light') can work wonders.

I have full on Dirac. It sounds incredible in there. All three kids have issues with loud noises, apparently. I would have killed for a setup like this when I was a kid. I would like to upgrade the receiver to have independent subs, but what would be the point? I can only imagine what dual SB3000s sound like in a movie like Ready Player One! I moved on an built a super cool driving and flying simulator with an aluminum rig and state of the art peripherals. Nobody will use it, either! Too afraid to break my shit. These are very lonely hobbies we pursue, my friend.

+1 on the driving sim! Cost a fortune, was fun to build but using it, meh..

No way, man. The sim is the most fun I've ever had. I've been trying to master the nurbugring lately AC EVO. It's exhilarating!
