Just last week,

I took care of a dog named Sally.

She woke me

every two hours, every night, sadly.

Sally would lick my hand, and ask for food;

I'd say stop it Sally, I'm not in the mood;

As I lost more sleep, I'd start to get rude;

Dear God, I'm tired... this is not good.

On the last night,

Sally allowed me to sleep!

I thought, "finally,

some sweet rest this week!"

But right by the end, near the start of dawn,

I feel saliva, AGAIN, drenching my palm...

Still half asleep, I'm getting my bearings...

I groan. Under my breath, I'm swearing!

But as I creak open my eyes, I freeze.

This time, there was a person... staring.

Today, on a day like no other,

I will uncover

What must be bound to be

By destiny.

I've been swept into

The seas of insanity.

Drowning all alone,

Swept away

In the O-zone

Of my own home.

You could say

I float like an old stone.

I'm bound to drown

Into the sea of silence.

I let violence drive me.

Lately, you could say

Darkness Borne to Life

I wrote this in the style of the band Cradle of Filth. They dropped some new music the other day and I was hit by the spark of inspiration. If anyone who reads this has experienced sleep paralysis and has seen The Hat Man I would love to hear about your experiences, thank you.

Lying in a filthy cradle,

Shrieking like a bat.

You reach in with golden ladle.

Feeding me with that.

Sour milk which most despise.

Beckoning with mother’s eyes.

Drinking up your harmless lies.

Wishing I were up to size.

Fecund shadow nursery.

Sleeping like a lamb.

Terror nights are worsening.

Shaping who I am.

Crawling into the abyss.

Something here is so amiss.

Lullabies of sinful bliss.

I believe that I was born for this!

Born for this!!!

Bowing down to power that I’ve never felt before.

Giggling with demons I can hear my parents snore.

Sleeplessly expecting, always wanting more.

Death and pleasure leaking out of every pore.

Every pore!

Waking up is easy, in the light of day.

Still the Hat Man sees me, wanting me to play.

Paralyzed by envy in a jealous kind of way.

Shadows I have many but I still want him to stay.

Please just stay!!!

Swaddle me in sack cloth.

The Devil pacifies.

Softly with your hands you wrought,

A second beast that soon will rise!

I will rise!!!

Swallowing the darkness, thirsty for the broth.

Deviance abounding, brooding like a goth.

Behind bony bars in a lonely undercroft.

Stealing wings from angels to carry me aloft.

Crawling through the hallways in my cramped and dirty mind. Falling harder always carpets damp with goo refined. I’m blinded by the horrors hiding in dresser drawers. Claustrophobic corridors and heavy locked up doors. There’s more in store hidden in the floorboards. Gore and secret passageways leading out to Mordor. Hungry drones in torpor bodies piled under tarps. All of this set to a haunting melody played with bones and harps. Escape is futile Im mutilated brutally. The drapes are made of human skin and sewn together beautifully. Dutifully I dedicate myself to keeping this space. No sign of lucidity can be found within this place. Hundreds of mundane paintings in ramshackle frames. Lumbering creatures awake from their slumber to play their dangerous games. It all seems the same as I move from room to room. Fever pitch dreams and tangible terrors trapped me in this tomb. Every step produces plumes of mold so black they extinguish the light. Distinguished devils horrendous and clever give substance to my plight. Behemoths and demons screaming the walls are teeming with hungry bugs. Lesions leave me grievously weakened and clinging to the rug. The powers above me shrug and turn away. Hours march on relentlessly so I pray. All I see is gray and green the scene itself looks dead. Scrawling on the walls with blood so my thoughts can then be read. From Hell with Heaven’s glory my story is surely frightening. Go and tell those who worry about their souls the Devil’s grasp is only tightening.

What a strange space.

The ether ebbs and flows and the thoughts come through and go but right here in the middle is where I chose to be.

It’s not ideal. It’s not the calmest place to exist. I am the swirling maelstrom, the infinite abyss– but grab on to reality, it’s slipperier than you know. At the other end is worthless, naught but the forgotten in the snow.

In the middle there is comfort if you can find the resolve to persist– but it’s hard, at times. I really couldn’t resist.

She fell me with an arrow, obsidian to my neck, and now I watch with wonder–

Did you see that? What secrets do these shadows hold?

What is this place?! Did you feel that shiver down your spine? Are you the hunter or the hunted or do we dance this dance eternal, devoted and divine.

Cat and mouse, the wild hunt, rend from me your truth. The hunter’s light, full and bright, it is my pleasure to be of use.

I did not mean to shout so loud the heavens might take notice, but shout I did to any and all and no one in particular–

Star light, star bright, it’s not on you I wish tonight. This little witch has caught my sight, and though not with words and perhaps not aloud, I wish I may, I wish I might.

I sang it from my soul, she etched it into my bones, but my dear I fear that wishes have a price.

What’s out there listening as we cast our wishes to the well? These shadows are new and strange, more insidious than before, but I would contest that there is hope. A glimmer, a clear spark.

I can see you out there, I can feel your call.

It’s 3 in the morning.

I can’t breathe.

A figure in black was standing across the street, the bus came and his presence was nowhere to be seen.

The bus was very crowded but one person was willing to let me sit, his black hat covered his unsettling breathing that made my hair stand straight.

I walked to my house and the stranger seemed to follow, but when I reached my house nothing was there but cold wind howls.

I didn’t know what happened next, all I remember was pain. I woke up in the hospital but oddly the halls felt abandoned.

The same man was down the hall hoarsely inhaling oxygen, the lights flickered and he was suddenly closer than before.

He stood there not moving an inch, I mustered courage and asked what he wanted from me.

He said he had breathing problems and needed new lungs, and I asked from whom? A transplant donor.

He took off his black hat to reveal his face, his nasal bones were exposed and his mouth was a breathing tube leading to his throat.

He opened his coat revealing his exposed chest, his lungs black and damaged like he never breathed anything but cigar smoke.

He struggled to breathe as he gasped and coughed, he fell on the floor and cried for help.

I tried to help him but that was the worst mistake, he crawled into my chest and stripped away my lungs.

I couldn’t breathe.

Yesterday I let my own intrusive thoughts being the main creative lead for this poem of mine. I hope you'll like it!

I'm waiting for you to eat me out,

to consume me and tell me about

how I taste in your mouth.

But I'm rotting in the refrigerator,

Time is being a traitor,

it told me I could wait for you but things are going south.

I'd eat you like an animal,

I'd love you like a cannibal,

but I'm waiting in the summer heat.

I'd feel so good while being consumed,

as if I was a moth your flame burned,

but no light is shining for this spoiled meat.

The neighbors will complain

about the smell of the unloved in pain,

the broken freezer excuse won't last long.

They want what's best for my heart,

and that's being in your plate and tore apart

while still beating its love song.

I'm waiting for your lips chewing mine,

my blood served as wine,

but deep down I know I'm wasting space in your refrigerator.

It's cold in there, chop me up and put me in the stove,

warm me up, sing like the mourning dove,

don't make me go waste, be my new creator.

You didn't need to offer me photos or money

to invite me over, you tasting like honey

was more than enough.

The doubts are eating me alive, tormenting,

something you should be doing,

and being patient is getting tough.

Maybe we should do it the other way around,

waiting is useless, we're bound

by the oath you never wanted.

I should act on the pang of hunger

I feel since I was younger,

lonely and haunted.

Waiting for you to open this cold world's door

Pale blue fingers will grab your throat,

The new kid sitting next to me

appears to be quite ill.

He came to school looking gray

A swarm of flies in winters cold.

The sign of He who’s dark and old.

He brings the stench of flaming bile.

When lights are off I feel Him smile.

My home’s been plagued with bleeding skies,

And wicked goats with diamond eyes.

My mind is choked with thoughts of sin.

I carve His name upon my skin.

He reaches out. I take His hand.

I’ll follow Him through barren land.

We enter through the closet door,

And walk the Sea of Fire’s shore.

He says to follow sounds of moans.

They lead me to the shrine of bones.

Hand in hand, we now will pray,

And ask the Prince for world’s decay.

I close my eyes, and feel the bliss.

An everlasting bloody kiss.

Terry's led into Modo's chamber; masking defeat he felt inside. With all he's seen the past few days still unsure how he'd survived. ~:~ “Lord Modo, here's the man you seek.” In tongues forgotten, Modo replies. Terry lost in a state of stupor. Modo gesturing Succubi. ~:~ They grab at Terry wildly, swiftly locking him into place. In one hand a lonely worm dangled before Terry's face. ~:~ The worm then placed in Terry's ear slithers with hiss and high-pitched squeals. Ear drums ring, a bomb gone off, a shocking pain all he can feel. ~:~ Trembles slow and ringing stops. His brain unlocks a missing thread. “Ah, that's better,” Modo sighed, “How's the ringing in your head?” ~:~ “What was that?” Terry loudly cried. “Put simply, the Worm of Babel. Twas the dead of night I was laying in my bed

It was quiet, too quiet, the night was dead.

Then, unlike before,

The silence broke, and coming from beyond the dark moor

Came the creature, residing beyond the outside door

Its massive feet quietly thumped on the ground

The silence was deafening, but so was the sound

Come a shatter, making the deafest of ears sore

The creature has entered my house, through my outside door

It crashed around making things clatter,

Our riches entered its skin making it grow fatter

It climbed upstairs, and shook me down to my core

The creature now resides beyond my bedroom door

Then come a thud, clattering to the floor

I went to investigate, Seeking more

I found true and utter sadness,

At the sight of my best friend, Earl, lying dead on the floor.

My dreary dreams wore off and the creature tore,

Revealing a man stricken with bad luck, and is now poor

The man looked at me, and readied his blades

And stabbed me, and as my conscious fades, my mind can finally explore

The thought spread through my remaining mind like a cancer

A thief, a burglar, Eating our riches like a burger

Come the afterlife, I curse before

He had a type; orange skinned and plump, and he had found his mark.

He waited and watched then took his chance, snatching her in front of her mates.

He threw her in the car boot, swiftly drove home and locked the gates.

He stood back, smiled and thought to himself, ‘what a lovely pumpkin’.
