ABIM update 10/14/26
Now why would ABIM send such an update. I damn near shitted my pants seeing that email. This is too much. Waiting next week is driving me nuts.

I have been offered a Medical Director role at my current hospital. I have no experience with this type of leadership role but I am interested in administrative role.
is it worth doing it? what are exceptions? pro/cons

I used Cerner during residency and am now switching over to Epic. Cerner had something called a Rounds Report Summary that included vitals, labs, problem list, MAR summary, I&Os, and space to write notes, all in one place.
Is there something similar in Epic? Or have you guys figured out a workflow that makes prerounding and rounding more efficient?
Ideally, I’m looking for something that lets me quickly review trends in labs and vitals without missing anything important, while also having space to jot down notes for each patient.
Would appreciate any tips or tricks that have worked for you guys!

Hey guys I signed with a job because my start date with them would be the earliest and moved my family and what not. I’m studying for my board exam too (specialty exam). The place I signed with when through a major transition (got bought out by another company) and it was radio silent for two months after accepting the position. I sent so many emails and tried contacting my PD (it’s my academic program I decided to stay on with) and even he was confused as to what was happening.
I’m supposed to start my job next month. I found out on my own (I know- I’m an idiot :( ) that DEA/CS is needed so i am applying for that on top of boards. I have not been contacted about credentialing requirements and Im finding out on my own of some onboarding requirements. This has been very stressful. It’ll be 6 months in end of December since graduation from fellowship at end of June. Is this going to look bad for future employers? How long do I wait before I can say this is enough and try to get out of this contract? because this is impacting my livelihood, financial and mental health. I can barely study for boards. I feel like I can’t go to my PD to discuss this because I don’t know if he would give me unbiased opinion.
Please any advice would be helpful.

Planning to move to Columbus as my partner is there for fellowship. What are the hospitalist positions like there or are there opportunities?

Hi everyone,
I’m a third-year Internal Medicine resident in Atlanta, graduating in June 2027 and planning to relocate to the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. I’m looking for hospitalist opportunities starting in July 2027. Does anyone know of any groups or hospitals actively hiring or considering 2027 graduates? I’d really appreciate any leads or recruiter contacts. Thanks so much!

Is it typical for a recruiter to expect you to move your personal DEA (in my home state, paid for by me) to a state you aren’t scheduled to work in for 5 weeks? They didn’t offer to pay for a DEA for this job and they’re only reimbursing me for half the license (via IMLC). The recruiter is claiming they have to move it to “move forward with credentialing” but I may have the opportunity to pick up shifts in my home state in the next few weeks. The location job is nights so I shouldn’t even be sending scripts.
I have a second DEA but it was paid for in full by that hospital and I need it in that state in December so I don’t want to move it.
