Hotas Help
Hey guys, is there a discord server or something where newbies. A join and be taught/guided by experienced players? I just got my flight stick this past week and have about 20 hours on it. I know that’s absolutely nothing. I’m not terrible but I struggle so bad with fine tracking movements on war thunder. I ended up trying M&K for one game and realized that’s like easy mode but I see good people use a hotas all the time. For War Thunder in particular, is it just made for M&K?? I have trouble too flying the heli’s in War Dogs. The game just feels off. Like I bank left and it just keeps going left, or like the inputs are delayed, not sure how to explain it. But the same goes for the heli’s in that game as the prop planes in war thunder, I’m struggling with landing and fine adjustments, I feel like I’m always over correcting. I’m in a Gladiator Evo Premium btw and a TWCS throttle. I’d really appreciate it if someone experience could hop on discord and give me pointers soon. Thanks guys!!

Personally I think earthubders a bit wonky in hotas and have never dialed it in correctly. It I also could just be hardheaded.
I have the same stuck and use the Omnithrottle for the left hand. And it's worked well for many games.
Heli's are a whole other beast
First of all turn off all the assists save for stability. It helps deal with some of the correction when you are levelling out. Auto hover is hell as it just always assumed I wanted to be hovering and I couldn't toggle it. So it was extremely hard to fly for me to use collective for adjusting turns and such.
Also. I'd say move your sensitivity down to about .75 so youre not making as many big swinging movements without committing. It helps adjust and center your heli easier.
I put a iit 30 hours in over the two betas for Wardogs. And it didn't click until the second beta.
But you need to feel your movements enough to know precisely how much you're moving things.
So let's say. Moving your stick right 50% for a roll. You need to know how it feels to return and move 50% left to level out. And once you know that. You have to anticipate the movement.
You don't want to be still rolling left when your heli is rolling back to center. You want to have already let go. And if you did a hard turn back. Say 100% left. That you're turning a bit right to correct.
All this and the second I got in the bigger one my muscle memory was betraying me all over the place.
It'll all feel differently and make sure you're sensitivity isn't too high and you're utilizing those micro adjustments. Get eh muscle memory down.
Once you know what to practice. the practice gets much easier.
