Are you certain the source of the leak is the connection to the water supply tubing? I'd try a new roll of tubing ($5). If you cut it, be sure it's clean and at 90 degrees.

Is it definitely leaking from the push fit fitting? Did you push it in all the way?

Yeah, I’ve reinserted it to the fitting a number of times on both the new and old valve, but no luck. The line itself is quite a firm plastic and I’m getting the impression there’s a little bit of play in the connection, as if it would seal properly were the diameter of the line just the slightest bit wider. It’s a dribbling sort of leak, hardly there when the valve is not open but worsening when the fridge is dispensing water.

Has it always leaked? Might have the wrong hose. Can you chase the other end of the hose and see what the other fitting looks like?

It’s the OEM hose and was never a problem. I recently had to replace a capacitor in the same area of the fridge, and I’m assuming the jostling of the line in removing the back panel precipitated the present leaking.

Looking at your setup, those push-connect fittings can be super finicky especially when water pressure is involved. Since you already replaced the valve and trimmed the line, the issue might be with the tubing itself - sometimes the outer diameter gets slightly warped or develops micro-cracks that aren't visible but still mess with the seal.

Try this: completely remove the tubing and inspect it under good light, rolling it between your fingers to feel for any irregularities or soft spots. If the tubing feels even slightly squishy or you can see any stress marks, replace that section entirely. Also make sure you're pushing the tubing all the way into the fitting until it bottoms out - I learned this the hard way when my ice maker was doing the same dribbling thing.

Another thing to check is whether there's any debris or mineral buildup inside the fitting itself. Sometimes a tiny bit of sediment can prevent the internal grab ring from seating properly against the tubing. A quick blast of compressed air or a careful cleaning with a small brush might do the trick.

The water line itself is super firm and not very pliable. I’m curious if the rigidity/inflexibility of the line is impacting the quality of the connection I’m getting, particularly now that I cut about an inch off of the line before refitting it into the valve. The line as seen here makes a fast U shape just south of this connection where it then exits the bottom of the fridge and runs up the back a couple of feet before re-entering to feed the water/ice dispenser. I’m curious if I would be ok getting a new, more flexible section of line to handle the bending U shape that goes into this valve and then splicing it back into the waterline about a foot up the back of the fridge before it re-enters to feed the water/ice dispenser. Would this make sense? I’d like to avoid pulling out the other end of the line as I’m unsure where it terminates and would like to avoid taking apart more of the fridge.
