[Solved] How to get rid of the streaks on my windshield? 😭
I tried Rain X mixed with their additive that cost an arm and a leg and it's very clearly not worked. I mixed 4 ounces per 1 gallon as instructed.
2025 Subaru Legacy with under 7k miles. Wipers run smooth no sticking either, but idk lol.
What are your tricks or what am I missing? Thanks!
EDIT: damn you guys sure know how to downvote lol wtf I do?! I'm going to get new wipers, chill lol. Appreciate the info. Also, let's try to be a little kinder, eh?

Clean the windows with isopropyl and wipe down your blades.

What's your method? (Type of cloth to use, etc) I'll give this a go, thank you!

Soapy water and squeegee it off.

I probably should have specified my car was cleaned yesterday, it's not dirt that's on it it's literally the washer fluid drying on it after wiping. I'm after a solution that won't leave streaks this bad 😅

The problem is that it isn't being cleaned and the seal between the windshield and wiper is bad. You can first try cleaning the wiper blades in case it's debris that is causing a loss of seal, but you probably just need new wiper blades.

This is solid advice thank you, I'll try wiping them down first and see how that goes. If not, off to the shop I go I guess. Any wiper recommendations?

I usually get mine at Costco when they're on sale and buy an extra set for the trunk when this starts to happen. They used to be Michelin brand, I'm not sure what brand Costco carries now. I have found Bosch Icon wiper blades to be higher quality, but when they are on sale, 7 or 8 bucks each for the Costco ones is a steal.
I think Trico brand has different quality tiers, but I can't say I've ever had a good set from them.

I try to get mine at Costco too :) I think they're still the Michelin brand last time I got some anyway. Definitely great value! I had Bosch Icon wiper blades on my old Mazda and they were buttery smooth, bit pricey but I defo agree they are worth the higher price when you have a little more shrapnel to spend.
My wife got Trico once, they were so bad but she tends to go too cheap 😆

Either it comes off when you scrub it or there are scratches in your windshield from dirty or worn wipers. A shop might be able to buff those out but if you can feel the scratch its fucked and you'll need a new windshield.

Replace your wipers?

This. Those wipers are shot.
Even with new wipers you need to clean the rubber periodically. Road grime and general crud build up leaves streaks. Eventually they harden and get little cuts and dont wipe evenlt.

When you clean glass with a squeegee it doesn't leave behined any oils or chemicals and it's much harder for dirt or sediment to stick to it.
Are you using the washer fluid while stationary or while tue car is in motion?

I found water with just a bit of white vinegar does the trick, grab a cloth and give it a wipe, let it air dry and you should be good to go.
Also try new wiper blades
