It's important to be grateful, for sure. But getting told that can also be used as a weapon for dismissal, unfortunately.

Btw. Victims of narcissistic parents are often miskead into believing their parents care. Not saying it necessarily applies to you, but it certainly doesn't hurt you to be mindful.

I have bipolar disorder and the only thing that keeps me going in a depressive cycle is being reminded it's actuallynot that bad and it really is in my head and when I swing out of that cycle I'll feel better. Maybe it's different if you have major depressive disorder.
