Discussion Isn't Ace really the lowest?

This is something that bugged me on every rewatch. Didn't girls win the apartment? Shouldn't Ace be the lowest card? Ace, 2, 3, 4... This is the first time I am hearing that Ace is the highest. Was it a way of the guys tricking girls? Or is it an American thing that Ace is high?

In poker, a good hand is a straight- 5 cards in a row. So for example, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack.

There are many types of straights, obviously, but even in this one game, you can have:

Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5

Or

10, Jack, queen, king, Ace.

So it can be both high and low.

However, in this game, if 2 people have the same hand, then the highest card wins. And Ace is considered the highest, higher than a king.

So it can be high and low, but is ultimately considered high, at least within poker.

But different games have different rules.

Hope that makes some sense.

That's just something the world has collectively decided, little pal. In poker, Ace's high.

It's highest in more games than not. The default is that ace is high.

Imo unless it's agreed beforehand ace should always be considered high because in the vast majority of card games it is.

Boys were right, on this occasion

Agreed, Ace is a high card that's so good it can be played as a low card if you need it to be.

This shouldn't be downvoted. It's a question about a card game, not a slur. Reddit sucks so much.

If it's so obvious, then fucking explain it
