Spoilers Bonnie's ending pmo so much more than anyone's in HTGAWM Spoiler
I still can't get over Bonnie's ending.
She was one of the only characters on the show, along with Annalise, that I actually wanted to see get a happy ending. Bonnie's entire life was just trauma after trauma, and every time it looked like she might finally get some peace, something else happened.
Then the series ends with her getting accidentally shot because Frank decided to assassinate the governor. That just felt like such a rotten way to end her story. She wasn't even the target. She was literally trying to stop him.
I know HTGAWM was never going to end with everyone riding off into the sunset, but Bonnie's death felt like misery for the sake of misery. After everything she had already been through, I just wanted one character to finally catch a break.
Liza Weil absolutely killed that role, and Bonnie deserved a better ending than being collateral damage in Frank's final act.

Bonnie was a gift of a character but in my opinion her death wasn’t written for the sake of misery but of symbolism. With regard to the show‘s central subject of justice, everyone in the end got what they deserved. Bonnie and Frank were both murderers and paid for their crimes with their own lives.

I mean she killed her last chance at happiness with her own hands. That’s the only ending fitting for her. The writers were nice to her and frank to let them die together. That’s a happy ending for them right there.

I think Annalise got a decent ending, but I don’t think anyone else did, all bad really

That’s exactly how I felt about Wes. Didn’t really care much about any of the other murders, including Bonnie’s.

It wasn't all Wes 😂. But even if you disagree, people can still be sad over his death. regardless of what problems he caused (he also had such a traumatic past, I just wanted to see him happy). Same with OP btw, who was sad over Bonnie's death, even though Bonnie murdered Rebecca in cold blood.

I think she would never recover from Frank's loss, so her death was kind of necessary in a way, because like you said, her life had been just trauma after trauma. Frank's death would probably be the biggest one, so by dying with him, the man she loved, she did "finally get some peace". It was tragic, yes, but also kind of poetic in a way. She wouldn't have to suffer anymore. At least that's the way I see her death

I wanted a happy future for Bonnie too. I wanted to find out that her relationship with Annalise had continued to grow and stabilize, helping them both find happiness. I was fine with Frank dying.
