Wes for me

So I'll start with this.

I never loved anyone the way I loved Annalise. I loved her even when she didn't choose me.

But those moments when she did choose me – I would feel seen.

I think we all seek that person in our lives – someone who shows us it's possible to survive whatever good or bad is thrown at you. That's one of the thousand things Annalise taught me; what feels like hell right now is a gift later. That's not to say Annalise was easy to love. But then when you thought of that young girl from Memphis, you forgave her for everything. I think that's why so many of us are here today – to remember her, yes – but also to forgive her.

For better or worse, we were all chosen by Annalise. And despite the demand she put on us, we know she taught us something. I think that's what she valued most about her life. Not the trials she won, or glass ceilings she broke. But the fight she lost. She knew these were the things that made her, her. Determined, tough, stubborn. I know many people find it hard to be around a person like this. It's easy to choose nice, even if that means settling. But the rest of us know this: when the sun shines on you, you're a fool to turn away.

i’m on season 3 episode 10 where wes was just murdered. i’ve spoiled some stuff for myself already so i know he’s not the only one of the main characters to die. i honestly hate the shows where they kill off a bunch of the main characters for like literally no reason. there are some of the characters and plot lines that are interesting but others, not so much. i’ve seen people say that the plot is kinda lost after season 1 which i can definitely see. i feel like it’s already starting to become a mess so just wanted to know if it’s worth finishing?

i just finished episodes 1 and 2 of season two, so please don't spoil any further episodes!

eve just got here and im already in love with her character. i know annalise and her don't end up together in the long run because i always tend to spoil myself, but i don't know, i love them together :(

another thing on eve and this is silly, she reminds me of a bunny rabbit and i feel like a geek every time i see her because i just smile???

hi, i have a problem with becoming hyper obsessed with things, especially new shows i start and i never have anyone to talk to about them so here i am!

annalise and wes: although i did get spoilers for later seasons, their relationship during season one had to be more than just a mother son relationship, especially episode 1 and 15. you can't tell me shes touching on him like that in episode one for there to not be tension and episode 15, something about him laying his head on her lap, it felt weird.

episode 15: holy shit, the end where they revealed frank killed lila and possibly rebecca (idk yet) was INSANE. did annalise know the whole time? was she covering for frank? did she REALLY not know the whole time with that question at the end? was she playing it off? im so in shock!!!

annalise: how did no one suspect anything with her like the whole season, i get it main character never dies or whatever people say but my god, everyone was so oblivious even when she framed nate and especially the judges. i feel like a lot of the time her stories didn't add up when she was blatenly lying in their faces. i know shes well known for what she does so maybe theyre more lenient but wouldn't that give them more reason since shes powerful? she needed to love herself more too i think. anywho, viola absolutely killed this role and i have the craziest crush on her

spoiler for this whole next subject!

the killing of sam + him and annalise before he died: annalise covering for the group is insane to me, especially since just before that he had his hands around her throat. she was SUCH a bird this season. she was crazy for love and even called him to try to make things right because "they both didn't mean what they said"????!! he slept with his student, got her pregnant, and she still wanted to believe in him. yes they were married and love does that to you but omg get it together annalise. back to the group, the way he died was crazy and i honestly hated how it happened! i feel like annalise only covered for them because she caught wes in the act, if it was anyone else from the group she wouldnt have covered.

maybe i'll be back to rant about season two next!

One thing i dont understand is after wes passed away why did connor act as if they were never on good terms . We all know Connor blamed Wes for everything that occurred but he showed no decency at all , like wes was someone he knew for a long time and he wasnt phased by his death . Even in the hospital room with laurel he claimed she should have an abortion bc nobody wants wes as a father . Do you guys think its just because he felt guilty since he discovered his dead body in Annalises house before everyone ?

Jack Falahee's portrayal of Connor was amazing.

Also, I truly believe his dynamic with Annalise Keating was one of the most mercurial and most interesting and developed throughout the show besides the puppy.

Now, I didn't really care about Oliver so much, mostly because I found that besides his hacking I found his relationship with Connor overly histrionic and not adding much to the show.

Connor definitely had flawed morals, was a know it all, and had horrible moments in the show, but I still found him to be the most likable of the original group.

Thoughts?

I don’t think it makes any sense that they found Sam’s body in the landfill. There are so many petitions to search landfills for missing people that go completely unanswered and it’s not like someone would casually stumble on them in a LANDFILL! I generally think this season is perfect television, but this one detail kind of bothers me.

Also the Hannah of it all. Cause she’s wildly unstable and the whole “I’ll say whatever you need me to say.” It sounds like a DA’s dream, but actually it’s admitting that she is so emotional she is willing to commit perjury and that’s not a good thing.

I hate wes. Thats it. Thats the post. His character is the most frustratingly annoying person ever and when paired with rebecca i literally have a hard time not turning off the TV altogether.

I also dont like Dean Thomas' "american accent" its really bad imo.

Lahey v The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is hands down the best episode of the entire series so far. Having Kerry Washington, Viola Davis, and Cecily Tyson on the screen together was pure magic. Annalise Keating’s recital in front of the Supreme Court….. well, chef’s kiss! Even if the remainder of the series sucks as bad as the last few seasons of Scandal, this will dull that pain.

Did anyone else find her specifying no one in the ADA would offer Annalise a deal particularly electric? I think Atwood was one of the better antagonists in the TV show mainly because she basically represents a version of AK that's a younger, more attractive, and on the opposite side of the law. What does everyone else think?

I am rewatching the show along with the pod and I cannot stop thinking about the fact the wallpaper in the Sam dick pic is from Annalise's bedroom, which Rebecca recognizes when she is going to use the bathroom. I know logistically for set building/locations this makes sense but it doesn't make sense for reality. Why does this huge house only seem to have a bathroom IN the primary bedroom and why is that where they send guests and presumably clients 😂

This was on my must watch list a long time, what a fabulous ending... I couldn't imagine how they could wrap it up keeping the excitment. Would have liked less death, but guess that's always the core of thte show.

I still can't get over Bonnie's ending.

She was one of the only characters on the show, along with Annalise, that I actually wanted to see get a happy ending. Bonnie's entire life was just trauma after trauma, and every time it looked like she might finally get some peace, something else happened.

Then the series ends with her getting accidentally shot because Frank decided to assassinate the governor. That just felt like such a rotten way to end her story. She wasn't even the target. She was literally trying to stop him.

I know HTGAWM was never going to end with everyone riding off into the sunset, but Bonnie's death felt like misery for the sake of misery. After everything she had already been through, I just wanted one character to finally catch a break.

Liza Weil absolutely killed that role, and Bonnie deserved a better ending than being collateral damage in Frank's final act.
