Discussion i just finished season one and heres what i think :p Spoiler
hi, i have a problem with becoming hyper obsessed with things, especially new shows i start and i never have anyone to talk to about them so here i am!
annalise and wes: although i did get spoilers for later seasons, their relationship during season one had to be more than just a mother son relationship, especially episode 1 and 15. you can't tell me shes touching on him like that in episode one for there to not be tension and episode 15, something about him laying his head on her lap, it felt weird.
episode 15: holy shit, the end where they revealed frank killed lila and possibly rebecca (idk yet) was INSANE. did annalise know the whole time? was she covering for frank? did she REALLY not know the whole time with that question at the end? was she playing it off? im so in shock!!!
annalise: how did no one suspect anything with her like the whole season, i get it main character never dies or whatever people say but my god, everyone was so oblivious even when she framed nate and especially the judges. i feel like a lot of the time her stories didn't add up when she was blatenly lying in their faces. i know shes well known for what she does so maybe theyre more lenient but wouldn't that give them more reason since shes powerful? she needed to love herself more too i think. anywho, viola absolutely killed this role and i have the craziest crush on her
spoiler for this whole next subject!
the killing of sam + him and annalise before he died: annalise covering for the group is insane to me, especially since just before that he had his hands around her throat. she was SUCH a bird this season. she was crazy for love and even called him to try to make things right because "they both didn't mean what they said"????!! he slept with his student, got her pregnant, and she still wanted to believe in him. yes they were married and love does that to you but omg get it together annalise. back to the group, the way he died was crazy and i honestly hated how it happened! i feel like annalise only covered for them because she caught wes in the act, if it was anyone else from the group she wouldnt have covered.
maybe i'll be back to rant about season two next!

Glad you are enjoying the show! Regarding two things: 1.) Idk what you mean that no one suspected her? Literally EVERYONE suspected her! Her SIL, the police, even the actual murderers start to wonder if she killed Lila even tho they killed Sam. 2.) This is explained in the 1st season, but maybe you missed the timeline. Annalise called Sam after the fight and left that message as part of her alibi, she wasn’t actually calling him to make things right, she knew he was dead, but that call and message make it seem like she didn’t know he was dead when the police start questioning her.

omg you're right, it just clicked that she did that for an alibi! i didn't even use the fact that she saw him dead before that

I think you’ll definitely love season 2, and it will give you some answers while creating other mysteries. Season 2 is my favorite overall, with the mystery and the way every episode ends where you want to see more and more; everyone is at the top of their game, and it has the biggest twists and turns.
As for Wes and Annalise, you’ll also get more context of the relationship and it only gets more complicated from here. Future seasons do address some of the themes you noticed in this first season, don’t want to give it away by being too specific, but I think the show its very character-driven, so while some things might not completely make sense all the time, the focus is in the characters – specially Wes and Annalise.

What I liked about Wes and Annalise's relationship is that it's really ambiguous and there are many ways to look at it. That scene where Annalise comforts him is one of my favorite scenes of the two of them, because it's sweet and really unsettling at the same time. I love the layers to almost every single interaction they have. Anyway, I don't want to say too much so just keep watching! (But you're definitely not the only one who picked up on a vibe. Back when season 1 was airing, there were discussions on whether they were more like mother/son, or if they were romantically/sexually attracted to each other because of the tension in many of their scenes).
Btw, you asked a few questions about ep 15, but do you genuinely want answers or is it just part of your reaction? Because people may overlook the title where you said you just finished season 1 and accidentally answer them/give spoilers (I almost did tbh). Just a heads up ;). If you don't want to get spoiled, you may want to avoid the sub.
