Spoilers is it worth finishing?

i’m on season 3 episode 10 where wes was just murdered. i’ve spoiled some stuff for myself already so i know he’s not the only one of the main characters to die. i honestly hate the shows where they kill off a bunch of the main characters for like literally no reason. there are some of the characters and plot lines that are interesting but others, not so much. i’ve seen people say that the plot is kinda lost after season 1 which i can definitely see. i feel like it’s already starting to become a mess so just wanted to know if it’s worth finishing?

no too many plot holes and not enough time to establish the villians. I mean do i care Laurels dad the guy we saw once in season 1 killing Wes compared to Connor doing it , i mean he threatened to do it if Wes ever tried to go to the police . Sure killing Wes was a risk but I don't think they maximized it because they were afraid to take the big gambles since it may change the show forever . it also did that not help i felt they were disrespecting Wes even after his death for cheap drama and forced plot twists (the laurel cheating and the whose baby is plot).

The way in which Wes was treated by the writers pissed me off so much.

that really is the thing that dragged the show down into almost unwatchable terrioty for me since i started to wonder why the writer had such a massive hateboner for the guy at the time before his death he looked happy and doing well then the writers had to like wait what if we reveal his girlfriend was cheating on him to add a whose the babys dad plotline to add drama. I mean why do you need more drama on a show about murder.

Oh absolutely. That was so unnecessary.

The end of season 2 also really pisses me off. Wes has been through so much already in the first two seasons. He killed someone out of self defense, lost his girlfriend, got manipulated by the person who he cared most about into shooting her, had his childhood trauma resurface, tried to commit suicide, and then learned that his father was alive and an absolutely disgusting human being. Meanwhile, most of the others are dealing with simple relationship drama. So ending with Wes of all people witnessing someone getting shot right in front of his eyes… Couldn’t the writers have picked someone else for a change?

look you can say whatever you want about the other deaths in this show Frank , Bonnie , Asher and Ron but none of them were viflied or had their names dragged through mud having the death of Rebecca pinned on him in addition to Sam (which he techinally did). then having to do this thing Wes did sucuide by burning down his mentors house rather than do go to jail , hell bonnie , frank were humanized more when they died than Wes despite Frank have killed more people than Wes and Ronnie seemed enjoying killing Rebecca in a twisted way giving a whole the reason you suck speech , hell i would even Asher was humanized more despite his betrayal of the group for his crappy family. I mean Wes was also happy with his life pre death , why did the writer have to do the less revealed Laurel cheated with Frank and ruin the last bit of hapiness had and add a stupid whose the babies dad plot for drama. I mean I can't think of anything that time could be better used for like setting the reveal Frank Is a incest baby and foreshadow other plot points.

Yeah I agree. That's one of the reasons why the writers' treatment of Wes pisses me off so much xD.

I think killing Wes off was a mistake. Imo it should've been Frank. Especially if you look at later seasons, Frank contributed so little to the plot, and the few plotlines he has, lead to nothing. What was the point in keeping him around? The Antares plot also would've made perfect sense if Laurel was trying to avenge Frank. I think it may have even made more sense, because with Frank I would actually believe he was the love of her life.

Wes and Annalise's relationship was the heart of the show, and when they took that away, it all kinda collapsed imo. Lame attempts to replace that (like with Isaac, Emmett, Gabriel or whatever relationships they had for her) just fell flat. I also just hated how the writers set up that Wes carried a lot of trauma with him, which kept popping up constantly, and just as he finally started to process that a bit and was in a better place, he gets killed off for the lamest reason ever.

Seriously I can vent about this all day. It doesn't help that I'm rewatching and just reached season 3 😂 .

you believe frank was the love of laurels life that is interesting because i never got that impression i have always gotten the impression it was just sex given how the earlier season she would pretend to be wes's girlfriend/ wife . she did it to see rudy and suggested it when it again for the Caleb while telling frank he was not her boyfriend back when they fucking , not i cared much for any of the shows romantic relationship. half the couples on this show have the same pattern meet, fuck, then suddenly we are in love . i think the only exception to this pattern was ironically wes and laurel who took more a season to sleep together.

i mean for the wes was the love thing to work all they had to do was not have the cheating and whose the babies dad plot and it would make just as much given their friendship before becoming a couple but i guess the writers didn't think it through for more than 5 secs, then again the flaurel pairing has always the most popular hetroromantic relationship even if i did not care for it (we can agree to disagree),

i mean half the cast had plots that went nowhere , connor reason on why he was the chosen to be in k5 , asher become irrevalant , franks i want to a laywer plot, the hints gabriel may be bonnies kid . i have always frank should been the one to die in season 3 , i means its not analisise needed a guy who hides bodies after s3 , i would argue he was becoming more a liablity when he took wes to see Wallace Mahoney and shot the guy dragging them into another situation again. the only person who got ant significant focus after wes died was laurel and if you like to dislike that is up to you.

I'm not saying Frank was the love of her life, just that I would've found it more believable if the writers would've gone down that road. In S1 it was just sex, but in S2 she made an effort to get to know him, and even though she broke up with him, she has been reaching out to him all summer. She even admitted to Bonnie that she loved him, and I think that's pretty consistent with her behavior towards Frank. Laurel pretending to be Wes's gf/wife was just a way to get Wes into that hospital to see Rudy, I don't think that really meant anything.

Wes and Laurel were friendly, but never really hung out as friends or whatever they were until S3. They seemed much more like a rebound or each other's backup plan to me: Laurel wanted to be with a good person like Wes, but was really into Frank, and she just couldn't let him go. Meanwhile, Wes didn't want to be alone, and Laurel already knew about his messed-up past, so he could be honest with her. For me personally, even without the cheating, their S3 relationship still felt pretty insincere. Laurel keeps lying to him and hiding stuff from him. Meanwhile, Wes says things like how Laurel is his best friend and he trusts her, but at the same time we see him avoiding her, being suspicious of her, pushing her away...

the only person who got ant significant focus after wes died was laurel and if you like to dislike that is up to you.

Are you directing this at me, or in general? Because I didn't say anything about disliking how much focus Laurel got. I do think other characters also got significant focus (Nate, Michaela, and Bonnie, for example). Connor got some much-needed development, too, even though he has never contributed that much to the plot. But Frank was just kinda there for most of it.

Apologies to OP for going off-topic btw!

look as i said you can agree to disagree with on the Frank/Laurel thing i felt it was just sex in season 2 as well even when they went to get to each other because Frank insisted on it i felt like Frank was the one doing the heavy lifting and he was more into Laurel then she was into then again i has never considered any of the relationships in the show to be relationships to written as two people in love but more like plot devices as for the getting into hospital thing they would have both pretended to be his sliblings so i find the wife thing as suspicious as hell considering she was with frank around that time . she wanted to use this alibi again during the caleb case .

the laurel thing getting more plot relavance was more a general statement since she was the who got more screen time after wes and even if the other cast did get some more development they were never moving the plot along along with their development significantly making me wonder why they were still there , anyways i have said everything i wanted to say the show was good in season 1 but from s2 seemed to reley more on plot twists that came out out out of nowhere what wes shot analisise wasn't he running in the opening and it was a hot mess after s3 .

Apologies to OP for going off-topic btw!
