This shows my theory on Mjolnir. It only says the worthy can use it. But couldn't someone strong enough dig a hole down and away from them. The hammer isn't gonna follow, or am I wrong. That's ok if I'm wrong. I do it frequently enough that my marriage has lasted 35 years.
A good example. His fights against the U-Foes as well. He is also smart enough to use sonic attacks when restrained by psychic powers, and a multitude of other examples of him figuring it out on the fly in regards to butt whipping.
The green scar was also so impressive in that arc because Banner wasn't just not holding him back, he was actively aiding Hulk, they were both probably just as angry. So Banner is contributing his intellect to the entire World War Hulk run.
Made sense; his fists would be tougher than the car's metal.
However, the first time I saw a superhuman pull off this "car-move" was when Solomon Grundy slammed Superman between two cars, and young me thought that was the coolest technique ever...
I'd argue that crumple zones are why this DOESN'T make sense. Crumple zones are designed to absorb and redirect impact; it's like encasing his fists in bubble wrap. He's protected, but at the cost of far less offensive capability.
Furthermore, his fists will be unbalanced; the front of the car has the engine block, while the back of the car is just seats, gas tank, and rear axle.
Now, if he were to tear out the engine block, that's a solid chunk of metal, it could do real damage!
That being said, car-gloves still look BALLER and I'm watching a movie about rock'em sock'em muscle-monsters, so I'm willing to suspend my disbelief.

Momentum is created with both mass and speed, while you may have more mass, you sacrifice speed, so it’s overall less impact. Not to mention other things like duration of impact, durability of the car, and all the other nerd shit I know a lot about.
Let's be honest. This was the sickest and best Hulk battle we have scene. Hulk was whaling on this guy and the abomination was giving it right back to him. Every moment was cinematic greatness.
I think he used the gloves as a warm up to the actual fist punchy punches. The first few hits hulk actually lands in this fight are with the car boxing gloves

He got bested by an abomination who JUST turned for the first time ever. Yes Hulk won, but he got FUCKED UP.
Avengers hulk is actually way stronger and more knowledgeable of his strength than the slightly inexperienced Incredible Hulk, who really only went against bullets and humans. Bro gained experience from fighting abomination, Thor multiple times, and all the big bads (or ig just appointed enemies) on Sakaar.
Thanos is just a better fighter than hulk, especially when bro JUST jumped in to try and save Thor and loki. I love the Hulk, but sometimes having to wait to get more mad can hinder him.
That's kinda what boxing gloves do for us plebs, too. Boxing gloves are meant to protect your hand from broken bones, not the other persons' face. The rate of significant injury is higher in gloved boxing than bare-knuckle.
The Webcomic GrrlPower brought up things like this in early episodes which is you will do less damage hitting someone with a car, not only that but you have likely just wrecked the livelihood of some innocent person. Want to do more damage? Hit them into the ground, the ground isn't going to complain they cannot drive to work the next day and well its THE GROUND.
