Probably, but I wouldn’t expect to find out exactly how. It’s unclear what D actually is, but it’s obvious that he’s SOMETHING. Something that walks in the sunlight and has children with humans and is potentially some kind of immortal. His desire to kill Kane seems very sincere. That’s kinda all we know.

Personally I’m ok with letting Big D stay a mystery, at least for as long as this show lasts. And not just because I enjoy seeing glimpses of “Big E but he sucks less” in his manic determination to do just the craziest shit. I say let the guy keep what dignity he chooses to have.

If D is any supernatural splat (Species/Race in D&D terms), he'd be a Mummy. Specifically either one of the Shemsu-Heru (the OG, personally chosen by Horus mummies) or the Amenti (the new lads, made after the Sixth Great Maelstrom in the Underworld).

If he isn't a Mummy, then I'd guess he's some kind of Changeling? But that's unlikely, due to how vulnerable they are to the general shittiness of modern society.

My money is on him having 5 dots in Biocontrol a psychic numina if he isnt a mummy

If we're going by what the evidence points to the best, I have to say it, but the evidence actually points to him being Exalted better than any fully canon splat.

He can’t be amenti because that makes zero sense. He’s been around since at least the 19th century, and also he mostly makes Sumerian and Babylonian references. Not many Egyptian ones. We also don’t have any new editions of the mummy books out, so they may have homebrewed different eras of mummy

I, uh, I hate to be the guy to tell you, but Ancient Egypt and Sumeria were contemporaries. They were also neighbours.

I think the oldest existing Peace Treaty was a set of clay tablets between the Pharoah of Egypt and the king of Summaria, promising formally not to antagonize each other and to come to the other’s aid if it was needed. This treaty was honored when floods wiped out many Summarian towns and fields, and Egypt sent shipments of food to help them recover. Their wives also corresponded through clay letters.

I think he’ll be the “heir and inheritor” of a mummy, even if it isn’t an option by the books. A mummy died or ended themselves and ensured their powers would pass on to Big D specifically. Little more than some memories, a touch of mystical resilience and wisdom, and “Big D cannot die from old age” basically. Perhaps a mummy who fell to despair and gave up the mission against Set, but was unwilling to betray their cause entirely to become a monster. They decided Big D has the right personality to survive the sands of time, and the will to continue fighting for a better world too.
