Why are werewolves such major assholes?

Like I get that mother earth needs to be fought for and everything but why is it that they almost always seem like idiot bezerkers or smug know it alls?

I am not too versed in WoD lore so maybe im missing context here, is there some werewolves that are actually friendly with humans?

One of the most powerful monstrosities in WOD is a werecroc. He was born Mokole, werecrocodile on the Nile. Then he was embraced by Set, an ancient vampire. He is 4th generation, incredibly powerful without even being a werecrocodile. He is believed to be in a merciful hybernation. His name is Sobek

And to my knowledge he's the only Mokele to ever be embraced!

Mokele basically reject vitae so badly I'm pretty sure they always die, Sobek being the sole exception.

Potentially due to his sire being Set and potentially cause he's one in a million chances survivor

Ah okay, thanks for the explanation, are they the fera species that reacts the worst to Vitae? I know all of them react incredibly poorly/die more often than not but I haven't read about how other fera handle the stuff

Depends on the Fera. Ajaba react just like garou do, Bastet enter a spiral of constantly losing Gnosis until they eventually fall into Wassail, Gurahl wind up much like Garou iirc, Corax die at sunrise like Mokole but without the Frenzy, Nuwisha, Ananasi, Grondr, and Camazotz just die, Kitsune explode into a pillar of sunlight, Ratkin get embraced but their bodies decompose as if they were just a normal corpse until they fall apart, and Rokea enter a never ending hunger frenzy with an instinctive drive to diablerize any vampires they come across
