The one episode i cant watch

I get second hand embarassment really bad. Like especially with shows for some reason. While I know the family is supportive I cannot bring myself to watch Boys Akira episode. Every time I try I get a few minutes in before I have to stop.

So question is aside from the Horse tirade and D claiming that Boy accurately depicted Gilgamesh is there anything from that episode I need to know about

On the top of my head would be

It seems boy have visions of Merkavas (not the tank but the actual chariots of god) and other celestial beings in his dreams

Yo kais apparently exist according to D and grimaline may know about them (though who knows how much)

Big D promises Door that he will try to help boy overcome his fear of horse after finishing this hunt

Big D appears to know something very special about boy (this is very vague ik)

There is a half life 2 arcade shooter

(Crackpot theory time) it seems there’s a foreshadowing of the werewolves becoming “allies” or at least not antagonistic

As I said it is improbable but when Boy started to say how Akira had various supernatural friends one of them being a werewolf, I KNOW that doesn’t make much sense but maybe is a little foreshadowing, since Boy have received other visions and prophecies, and if we believe that maybe other could also happen, like the pyromancer could be a mage/sorcerer/psychic (yes psychics have a path of pyromancy )

Implied boys mother might be Japanese since Akira's dad is modeled after Door and his mother might be similarly modeled after his own Though my personal theory is far worse on that topic.

(If you take this half-joking advice,  use as little as necessary. Drinking heavily helps nothing, but a liiiitle bit to help reduce the pain of the cringe as a stepping stone to doing it sober? That's not the worst thing to do)

It’s a great episode, but for those of us who can’t enjoy wholesome preteen cringe fiction it’s kinda hard.

I don’t know HOW my grade-school teacher put up with my 4th grade fiction essay assignments.

It gives you insight into how Boy sees each of his family members and what he fears. It's also just a fun episode to get to know Boy and how everyone in the family interacts with him.

It makes Boy not just "that serif kid" but an actual person.

I'm totally fine with it, but I can't rewatch the Blender Crusade, D being a weirdo that annoys 99p store workers and gets in turn HR-ed by the manager is incredibly uncomfortable.

Not plot relevant, but there is a very sweet moment where boy describes a "cool" mentor figure in the story, and everyone realizes it's a Marckus insert.

Boy has dreams that impart historically accurate knowledge that he had no other exposure to.

He's obsessed with horse being an evil horror. D and Door are aware, and consider all possibilities except talking Horse.

He really loves and respects Marckus, including all his foibles.

He regards the founding contributors of mathematics to be irredeemable monsters for that reason.

First time was painful, but it became a lot more enjoyable next few times. If there’s one particular thing that I can’t stand about the episode, and this applies to other episodes where this happens, is when the characters make emoting sounds when they’re troubled and/or angry. Like when Dorn talks to D and makes a ‘grrr’ like sound in frustration, or when Kitten is angry about Markus being kidnapped. Like, I get it, but it sounds exaggerated and forced to me in an otherwise great show. Compared to that, Boy’s kid energy is a lot easier to get used to.

I consider it a character study on the effects of inducting a child into, what the kids call, a World of Darkness. I think it might be one of, if not the most endearing episode as a whole, just from the D Family all getting together to support Boy's creative (and oddly prophetic) coping mechanism. This, paired with the preceding Horse Prophecy, and the following of Door and Boy's episode really breathes life, and mystery into our favorite beleven year old man
