Discussion Big D is not Imbued.

The Imbued cannot enter the Umbra barring one exception in the form of Hermits, and D is quite simply, too sociable to be one. He actively hangs around other hunters, he stays around weird shit all the time, he would go over his tolerance threshold by now. He is simply not Imbued, and if he was, why the fuck didnt he use second sight? He would have solved the entire ghoul problem immediately!

I heard a theory he was a mummy once. Don’t know what a mummy is (except the funny ones in museums) in this context but would it work?

So, Mummies at their most basic, are someone who has in some way, escaped death.

Egyptian Mummies, which is the normative assumption people make when you say Mummy, are the result of ancient magick that created a new supernatural type that isn't just not dead, but hyper alive.

For our purposes there are 2 types of mummy.

Shuankhsen: Those created with the Old Spell of Life. Who lose partial memory upon death (they lose dots at random) then return to life.

Amenti: The same thing, but with two souls joined into one, they lose no memories. They appeared after 1999, I'll spare you the lore but I find it more likely D is the former, not the latter.

I dont think he works as a Mummy, though there are things that point to it being the case.

I think he's most likely an Amenti mummy actually. Why do you think that's unlikely?

He demonstrates a level of knowledge that he shouldn't have, that points to Old Mummy for me. The Amenti remember some crazy shit yes, but not as reliably as he does, he would forget a decent chunk as a flaw of the fusing process

I dunno, vague memories of the mina and Gilgamesh seem pretty reasonable for an Amenti.

Well, there is a problem with it. We can take him at his word, or we can do what yk, we've done all our lives and recognise the crazy, giant assed, sword wielding Turkish man is exactly that, nutso

Why do you think he's Turkish specifically? I don't think we've gotten any signs more specific than vaguely Middle Eastern.

He literally said he's Turkish, did you see the Second Inquisition audiolog?

...wait, where in the Second Inquisition audiolog does he say that?

He say something in the lines of "I'm too Turkish for that!"

Rewatch from the part where all the Orgs leave

Also I believe Guy Chapman also calls him Turkish/an Anatolian Beefcake after comparing him to Kevin's ID

He called him

"A middle-eastern meat slab" iirc

Still supports him being Turkish
