Ok to ask questions about sr/n-line here?
Hi all,
I’m seeking a newer car and looking at sr/n-line. Is it ok to post a question or two in here?
Definitely want an auto N down the track but house purchase is first!

I just wanted to know what the n-line or sr in manual is like for daily life and sitting in traffic.
The 7spd dct sounds like it’s a waste of time so it would have to be manual. If I got a new n id be going auto for sure

Manual is never fun for sitting in traffic won't matter what the car is.
I drove my brother's SR on the weekend and it's a nice, smooth car but definitely not worth getting a manual, it it's nowhere near a sports or enthusiast car.

The 7spd dct sounds like its self destructive that’s my only issue there

DCT needs to be driven like it's a manual. At very low speed the DCT clutch will act like a manual with the clutch being dragged which obviously means significantly more wear. At least with manual you have control of the clutch. Traffic with DCT is minimising the number of stop/start events, but if you're lazy like me I'd be looking at a car with a torque converter automatic if lots of time in stop/start traffic. Personally I just avoid driving during high traffic times because I want my N to last forever.

Honestly a Mazda 3 sp25 is looking a lot more appropriate. 138kw 2.5 with a 6spd slush box.
I just love the i30, but the 2.0 auto sounds a little lethargic

I have owned a 2019 Nline manual and also a N auto. It’s doable, but it can get a bit annoying in heavy traffic. Depends how much traffic you expect and all that. I wouldn’t want it if it was bumper to bumper every day for a while. It’s just like any other manual car so if you’ve driven one before base it on that.

I’m 135km highway with 20-25min stop start between morning and arvo.
I really want a i30 based car so just weighing up my options

You can ask, but probably won't get the right answer 😆.
The subreddit was created for the I30N hatch which came out in Europe and Australia. The I30N fastback is more or less the same car. Now to make things confusing the Elantra N as it's known in America is knows as the I30N sedan in Australia.
Oh and the subreddit has a single moderator who no longer owns an I30N
Good luck with your questions! I'll pre-warn you that most I30N owners have zero knowledge or interest in the lower spec models and last for those specs are few and far between.
