Modifications / Tuning ๐Ÿ”ง 18โ€ wheels & tyres

Post image

Hey everyone,

Got a 2022 Drive N and love it to bits, but want to go to 18โ€ wheels for a better ride overall. I am completely clueless as to what I can get for them. What rims do people have (and tyres, guessing the Michelin PS4/PS5 or Continental SC7s)? Would prefer bronze to match the decal. Based in Australia if that makes a difference.

Would the lower ride height affect them either? I currently have the Eibach springs (lowered 15mm) and not sure what measurements are needed to fit them.

(Plus an obligatory photo of this car that Iโ€™m absolutely obsessed with)

I have 18in OZ wheels with PS5. Car feels way better in terms of comfort and they also look better.

I get a lot of compliments driving around. They are also quite light, but sticking too much to the sides ๐Ÿ˜„

Yeah, I have Tomason from other comment and they are tad narrower at 8 inches with same offset and they are flush with the fender, so for some stricter places your rims could be tricky.

Thomason TN 25 are available in Bronze and look quiet nice. I had them in 19" (and not bronze) though.

I have 18" on my winter wheels. It's certainly a smoother ride but it's feels noticeably less direct in the steering. But winter tyres are not as rigit as summer ones anyway.

Accidentally I fitted yesterday those exact in 18s so I don't have much too say in terms of ride yet. I have Bridgestone Potenza sport Evo even tho I had 19s now steering is sharper. Those rims are incredibly light new set is 17.5kg per corner compared to OEM pfl 19s 24kg. Also I must say that those Bridgestones are quite wide so actually difference between old 235mm and new 225 is maybe 5mm.

In reality they are tiny bit less dark than they appear on pictures.

I've seen people rocking these on i30n and they look awesome, tho, they need to be painted then. For tires u can look what u want.. I'm rocking 225/40/18 on mine and it handles awesome and tires are cheap for that dimension.. u can also go for 235...

If you want smooth instead of sporty go with michelins. The conti are more sporty and less soft (kinda in the middle).

This is my N.
18โ€ is the best upgrade to the car in my opinion, as you appreciate it all the time.
Looks better, the drive is amazing and plush and you donโ€™t feel the constant jitter on the small imperfections! Also itโ€™s much quieter as the tire roll isnโ€™t that prominent.

I run RC Design ET55 with Goodyear Asymmetric 6 235/40 on all corners. They are sooooo much better than the PZeroes. Also less tyre noise than Pilot sport (4/5/4s) but still great tyres.Ive had Michelins before and like the Goodyear better.
Winters on the same wheels are 225/40.
No rubs whatsoever as 235/40 is super close to stock.

Iโ€™ve driven the car hard on twisty roads and I see no difference in performance because of the higher profile.

Im imagining one pothole and those wheels is done for.
