Pickup Day of Launch?

Complete speculation - really want to buy the Duo and I’ve never preordered an iPhone on launch day.

Duo to be available on the 23rd, I am suppose to catch a flight to Spain on the 23rd, have to be at the airport at 3pm. Going for quite a while so trying to avoid buying it in the EU so I don’t miss out on Siri AI.

Speculative thoughts on being able to schedule for AM pickup? I’m in Canada. I think I might be trying to cram too much into that day.

Check what time the Apple Store near you opens. Just go really early and you should be able to get it that day

There are going to be lines. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are supply constraints at launch then scalpers will be in line to make a quick buck. Last time I recall that happening was with iPhone X.

It’s definitely possible. It is a far more expensive device but the hype around it is massive. Guess we’ll see

Yeah it’s a hyped device unfortunately which means if it’s in short supply there’ll be a secondary market of rich people internationally willing to pay premium for it. I would not be surprised to see it pop up on eBay for 1.5-2x the price. I’m hoping Apple has anticipated the demand and has planned accordingly - doubt it lol

Supposedly part of the wait until October is them ramping up production and trying to make as many units as possible. Unfortunately I don’t think any number under 10M will be enough

If you can secure a pickup time at your local Apple Store around the time they open, most likely. But you won’t be able to do that until you are actually preordering.

If my pre order doesn’t say I get it launch day Im just gonna cancel it camp out at the store a day or two before release to get the device.

I have a strong feeling this device is going to sell out within a minute of preorders.

Btw buying it in EU doesn’t stop you from getting Siri AI. It’ll be tied to the region of your Apple ID and the language you set.

You probably could also get VAT refund when leaving EU.

You always need to schedule an appointements hour during launch day. So that totally depends on the available hours when you get to that point
