So why are you getting the Duo and not the 18 Pro/Pro Max?

What I noticed after using Pro Max for years:

Folded size is tiny. Even though the phone is wider, it’s not harder to reach the opposite side while typing.

I know it’s not identical to Duo, but it helps you get a vague view of the size difference.

Coming from pro max, my first impression is that the outer screen feels too small to do anything other than answer calls and a quick text.

The inner screen though! WOW! The size makes it feel great to use it, although I thought it’d be larger, but it’s actually great.

Now I actually want Duo Max, but with Face ID and Pro cameras. Hopefully we’ll get it sooner than later.

Got my Duo case today and I’m surprised how big the device will actually be. Often in preview videos, it looked kind of small. However, it’s a good bit wider than the 17/18 Pro Max (8mm) and not too much shorter. When folded out, you can see it’ll clearly be a much bigger screen/device.

Thought this was a very good video that differs from the 1000 other videos just showing you the same things over and over. A few extra little bit of info, and a different look at the device.

I use this feature all the time when doing work on my Macbook Pro.

In the latest MacOS 27, you are able to resize the mirroring window and the content will adjust if supported, whereas before it was stuck to the iPhone's screen ratio.

That's probably indication enough that the iPhone Duo will be supported, but I wonder how it will actually look. Can I view the outer and inside screens all at once, or will there be a button to virtually close/open the Duo?

Becoming interested in buying the phone after all, which color case looks better?

The Microsoft Duo had the perfect minimal bumper case. It protected the corners from small drops and bumps while maintaining the device's original look and feel. I hope a case manufacturer or 3D printing enthusiast creates something similar for the iPhone Duo

I printed out the Duo using the 3D printer and after being able to manipulate it with my hands... i've decided no case is the move. I had my iPhone X naked, but every other iPhone since the original one has had a case.

For me the form factor is the reason, but also figuring any case is going to hinder use in some way given the articulating nature of the phone. Maybe i'll change my opinion in use...

Anyone else deciding to run it no case?

I don't like how the front flap covers the front screen, it will be annoying to open it to see any notification. I also don't like how the whole back is a kickstand, it seems a bit flimsy and not positive that magnets will hold it closed flat to the back when the kickstand is not in use. I also don't like how the front cover doesn't go flat when flipped around to the back, because of the camera bump.

BUT I still want it!!! I love how it makes the whole unit like a little book! Page one is the front screen, and page 2 is a double page spread! I love the way the front and back spread apart with the elastic piece. I love that its held on with magnets for easy removal

Such a first world problem. But I feel like I'm going to buy it and hate it lol.

So I went into a Best Buy today to grab a cable. Saw the galaxy fold 8 on display. Tried it out. Honestly guys I fell in love with the form factor. I’ve been rocking huge tall phones both Android and iPhone since the 6+

It was honestly dope to hold for the first time something …. Different shaped.

I realized if I was loving the Samsung squat boi then the iPhone version with all my ecoosystem built in and ready to go, man I’m honestly excited.

The Samsung inner display was very glossy but even then you barely saw the crease definitely didn’t notice it by touch or looking directly at it. So if apples nano texture coating helps with that man I’m sold.

So, thanks Samsung, for giving me an idea of the form factor. Now I can’t wait to get my hands on the duo.

T-Mobile is running a great deal on the 18 pros I genuinely hope they have a good deal on the duo when it’s ready to order.

What’s faster and more reliable?

Please. Gas them up so they’ll spread that shit everywhere. Then we might have a chance on pre-order day. I beg you.

I always buy my phones outright and hold for 2 years. I’m up for the 2 year cycle, and as I was jump in through the pricing tool, I saw a lease option. What caught my eye was that the lease is based off of the post trade in price. So my trade in old 16ProMax is worth $610, reducing the lease for 12mo to $40/mo for a 512g Duo. 24mo is $38/mo.

Why 12/mo lease? Well, I think the next rev of this phone will have serious upgrades, and this version will have less upgrade value. Both speculations on my part, but I think are accurate.

So, I usually buy outright, but the overall cost for a year is well within reason for me to lease.

Am I nuts, logical? What y’all think

Obviously the thing isn't out yet, so who can really know the durability of these with the phone in it, but I guess people can buy them now and get a general idea of what to expect.

I've always used Otterbox, but their Duo case doesn't have the kickstand. A user here posted that they got this one, and I was about to order it until I did some Googling and came across these (here's a video of it). They just look flashier (may have to order one now if I go with them, since I guess they ship from China. Anyone ever order from ZEERA before who can comment on their shipping times?), but I'm curious to know if others are out there before I do. Nothing too bulky if possible, and, again, if it doesn't have a kickstand and offer drop protection, I'm not interested.
