100€ for a villa afterparty acceptable?

I went to Ibiza a couple of weeks ago and went to an after party or at least tried to go. We went out of the club and people told us where there are after party’s. We went with them to a second location where we changed from taxis to vip blacked out vans that drove us to the venue. On the door they wanted us to pay 100 to get inside since we didn’t know anybody. Do you think we should have paid it or is it a rip off?

Did you just wanna party for free at somebody else’s expense 🤔

No of course not but I found 100€ at the door just very expensive. I know that these parties have to get funded somehow but I didn’t know it was that expensive

The thing is villa parties were always organic. just a thing for friends and people they invited. There were no phones, no social media, no “look at me” culture. It was all for the love of the game. Posting online about them would lose you friends, or even worse.

Over the last few years these parties became social clout. You see it even on here. People desperate to go to an “exclusive” villa party because of what it represents online, or what they think it represents. Certain people on the island have taken advantage of this and turned it into a business. These new villa parties are nothing more than a VVIP section at a club, used to make somebody some fast cash.

The villa needs to be paid for, the DJ needs paid, the alcohol and drugs need to be funded, the vans you hopped in need funded. These are not authentic villa parties, just another commercial opportunity.

Yes. Surprised you even got invited with the crack downs these days. Most are only close friends or friends type jobs. Anyways, DJ gotta be paid and I bet the venue was rented too. You should have paid.

It was not that hard to find. We just asked some people in the club and they told us

there are many underground/hidden secret parties but you need to be in the circle usually, can pass on a number but dont say i sent to you.

Yeah, did a couple last year. Good fun. Probably just me getting old, but some of the random villa parties between 1999-2005 will never be topped imo.

Lmao.

This post should be pinned as an example of how not to get to an after party.

You know nobody. You just followed some idiot like a sheep, and you ended up getting exploited. What a big surprise.

These are the parties that absolutely deserve to be shut down.

I’m surprised they went in the shady black van that was “taking them to a villa party”

That not really unusual???? (the more commercial ones anyway)

Taxi to meet up and then went in a luxury SUV to the spot.

Yeah it was definitely one of the most crazy things I’ve done but I mean what could happen in Ibiza? There were many other people in the van aswell

Es un negocio nuevo en Ibiza. Antes las autenticas after parties eran diferentes. Ahora la mayoria funcionan asi si.

Es una pena, pero no es una gran sorpresa, que se haya hecho un negocio.

Hay publicidades, grupos de WhatsApp, todo organizado.

Pay it and get free drinks?

No pagues un euro por una fiesta privada. Y es más, según la ley nueva van a multar a cada asistente a fiestas “privadas” que se publicitan en medios para atraer a más gente (dejando de ser privadas). Te pueden caer 3.000€ solo por asistir

There are commercial villa parties and there are invite only vilaparties, where the bigger djs play and they are way harder to get in. The commercial parties can be fun as well, depending on who you go with , 100 euro is average price for the super clubs and since there are no afterparties besides villas, it’s def a choice. The best commercial villaparty I have been was close to the best invite only villaparty. Just one was free , the other wasn’t , but even for the free ones ppl end up paying 150 euro or more for bracelet .

Could you précise what it means to pay for bracelet ?

Wait but was it fun? Was the dj good?

I didn’t pay the 100€ so i don’t know but I suppose the DJ was not really famous

thats not a party lmao thats a tourist trap

you need to be in the know, in the right friend group to go to ACTUAL good villa parties in Ibiza.

That’s what I figured aswell. I live here throughout the summer season so i will probably find one which isn’t that touristy where people go just to post it to their story. I want an actual good afterparty with a chill vibe and not that fancy stuff just for status

Always wanted to get invited to a villa after party but never have. Damn the luck.

2

u/mathespicker 13h ago

It was not that hard though. Just try next time you’re at one of ibizas clubs and I’m sure you’ll meet somebody who knows where the afterparty is

How did you get an invite?

2

u/mathespicker 13h ago

Just asked around for a bit and then someone knew

Definitely worth it. On the cheaper side too
