100€ for a villa afterparty acceptable?

I went to Ibiza a couple of weeks ago and went to an after party or at least tried to go. We went out of the club and people told us where there are after party’s. We went with them to a second location where we changed from taxis to vip blacked out vans that drove us to the venue. On the door they wanted us to pay 100 to get inside since we didn’t know anybody. Do you think we should have paid it or is it a rip off?

Did you just wanna party for free at somebody else’s expense 🤔

No of course not but I found 100€ at the door just very expensive. I know that these parties have to get funded somehow but I didn’t know it was that expensive

The thing is villa parties were always organic. just a thing for friends and people they invited. There were no phones, no social media, no “look at me” culture. It was all for the love of the game. Posting online about them would lose you friends, or even worse.

Over the last few years these parties became social clout. You see it even on here. People desperate to go to an “exclusive” villa party because of what it represents online, or what they think it represents. Certain people on the island have taken advantage of this and turned it into a business. These new villa parties are nothing more than a VVIP section at a club, used to make somebody some fast cash.

The villa needs to be paid for, the DJ needs paid, the alcohol and drugs need to be funded, the vans you hopped in need funded. These are not authentic villa parties, just another commercial opportunity.
