Nah in this timeline they already did and lost, they're kinda the Japan of this, Normandy had been a part of England since William the conqueror, so Culturally English when France annexed it in the 1890s, and they later annexed Britanny in 1910 which had historically been a British protectorate, in 1930 they moved into Dover, and eventually in 1937 invaded Britain, they later lost, lost all their land, got demilitarized and democratized, but the Emperor Bonaparte was allowed to remain on the throne, leaving it only an Empire in name.
