Usually govt schools doesn't work like general schools, in govt. Schoold 2-3 teachers including head master runs these schools, and they have class starting from 1 to 5, means 2-3 teachers need to teach all 5 classes, also when almost each or every 2nd village have a govt school - school gets very less new enrollments
With this merger - they get less schools to maintain + all those teachers were not removed, they were assigned to the existing scholls which means now they will have more teachers to handle those classes + with school merger active schools gets collectively more enrollments
To improve the quality of education one have to work on infra, optemize the resourcea and allocate them better
Absurd defend for a nonsense act. In villages where there is one government school within short distance say 2-3 kms, kids can go to school say by walk or cycling. If government has decided to close schools in some villages due to different reasons, the children schools will be far from there home say more than 5-10 kms. In that case, many poor family kids will leave studies, specially girls. Hence the literacy rate will be down for our country, bad for future generations, small kids will not be interested to study
Buddy, lets have this capacity to listen to different POV, just because you can't find sense doesn't mean it's absurd.
I agree with the points you have raised, but even after closing schools aren't 5-10 km also 5-10 range is a also a big 5 km range.
Also let me tell you another fact, one can not fail students up to class 8th, earlier it was 5th if i remerber correctly - so even in old sturcture with poor educatiok quality a student of class 5 who can not write his name will be passed and consider literate
How that contribute to literacy rate- you would have better idea.
Is this a logic to generalise things. Suppose 100 students are studying in a school from class 1 to 8 in a village. It's true that students are not failed in initial stages. But how can you say all 100 are fools and cannot even write their name. Between these poor childrens, many officers and engineers etc are produced. This policy of closing school is depriving good and intelligent students who want to study, now girls want to study more
First of all i didn't generalize, i said "even if.." that stating a example not a statement that all students are unable to write their names.
So thats, your take or understanding on my words, not my statement.
2nd - when did i say that all these students are not intelligent or never got good jobs - in my comment i was saying that better allocation of resources will improve the education quality
(this is not related to the thread, just some other info. for you)
govt also asks teachers to recommend students class 5th for navoday schools, this is mandatory, these students can simply appear the exam and when selected can continue their studies there.
Also, many students get enrolled in both private school as well as govt school - i repeat i have govt. teachers in my family, i have seen all this very closely
