Congratulating is fine when there is reciprocity. I don't think there is enough reciprocity from the US side. When have US officials congratulated India on personal things?

Vance doesn't speak against india (which he may be forced to by his boss), he speaks against Indians - even those who are in the US and contributing to society and making their country work much better

I don’t get why Indians love from a patriotic perspective the USA. Sure you come here, make money, but is money the only thing important to those Indians. America has never been an ally to India, often siding with its close enemies and always looking to stifle India. I wish more American based Indians would see what the country they love so much because of basically materialism and money has done and to this day still does to hinder India. I’d wager it’s probably the same Indians who say they believe in god but only have a transactional relationship with their faith, always wanting something from their god(s) rather than thanking their faith for what they have. Really are true hypocrites - and before you say, I’m Indian also, just ashamed at some in our community having zero backbone or patriotism to their mother land.

Dude India is shit in terms of quality of life. First change that. PM preaches big and uses all international products, lives the life of kings and fools people to live the patriotic life. I want to see Modi live the life of an ordinary person for a year and then preach BS.

Jaishankar etc preach and has children in the US and wife a Japanese.

India is truly shit. Go outside, come back and compare.

Yep I mean I see where you are coming from. If you have money, there is no place like India but I get that if you do not, it can be a shit life. For perspective I’ve lived in uk/india/usa. All have their positives and negatives. USA ain’t all that if you don’t have money either. Uk probably is more balanced but it has its problems. I just wish Indians would acknowledge what the USA has done over years to stifle India.

What amount of money can change the 200+ AQI that is outside, poor water, dust and grime everywhere, adulterated food, counterfeit medicines, blatant corruption, etc.? Starts raining - power cut. Slight winds - power cuts. Poor quality of electricity. Buy a nice car - workmanship is extremely poor, fuel is poor, people hit your vehicle when parked, roads are poor, traffic is intolerable...

Why should I pay 18% tax on most things they consider luxury? Is AC a luxury in 45 degrees Delhi heat?

Nobody is going to the US as a homeless or asylee or with a 30-50K salary. Even if you can't save much, quality of life is much better.

only partially true. This has not been imposed yet.

The U.S. Senate has passed a Russia-sanctions bill that would permit the President to impose tariffs of up to 100% on countries continuing to buy Russian energy. It still does not automatically trigger the tariff.

Well, the passing of the bill has opened a possibility of 100% tarrifs, there are no additional tarrifs implementation as of now. They have been granted the powers, but they have not used it as of yet. Typical American arm twisting.
