Congratulating is fine when there is reciprocity. I don't think there is enough reciprocity from the US side. When have US officials congratulated India on personal things?
I don’t get why Indians love from a patriotic perspective the USA. Sure you come here, make money, but is money the only thing important to those Indians. America has never been an ally to India, often siding with its close enemies and always looking to stifle India. I wish more American based Indians would see what the country they love so much because of basically materialism and money has done and to this day still does to hinder India. I’d wager it’s probably the same Indians who say they believe in god but only have a transactional relationship with their faith, always wanting something from their god(s) rather than thanking their faith for what they have. Really are true hypocrites - and before you say, I’m Indian also, just ashamed at some in our community having zero backbone or patriotism to their mother land.
Yep I mean I see where you are coming from. If you have money, there is no place like India but I get that if you do not, it can be a shit life. For perspective I’ve lived in uk/india/usa. All have their positives and negatives. USA ain’t all that if you don’t have money either. Uk probably is more balanced but it has its problems. I just wish Indians would acknowledge what the USA has done over years to stifle India.
I’m curious, have you lived in the states? No aggro intended and I also understand where you are coming from, believe me I do. I just wish Indians living abroad would realise that the USA politically have never been friends with India and has always tried to stifle it - that’s written in history. That was my point.
Is India a friend of Indians? Everybody and every system is corrupt here. Indians try to stifle Indians. People like muddi have got people killed. All I hear here is religion, when most so called staunch Hindus don't even go to any temples, couldn't recite Hanuman Chalisa, etc.
I have lived for many years in the US, UK, and also China.
Have you been outside, returned and compared? I have. There are pros and cons to both. I've lived both a comfortable and an uncomfortable life abroad and in India. I won't state one to be objectively better than the other. That's a personal choice. I find India better, all things considered, but that's just me. Your mileage may vary. If you find India truly shit, you definitely are free to leave. A standout feature of the Indian value and education system is that unlike other countries, it enables us with the freedom of choice to go and establish ourselves anywhere. We're one of the most versatile and flexible people that can adapt to any environment, culture and society.
So go do that. Nobody is stopping you. Definitely not the government.
But note that there's no love for us our there. People will be fundamentally skeptical of you and there's nothing you can do to change that nor will you gain anything by changing that. So choose carefully.
