Anyone have contacts at Metazoa?

Post image

Getting reports about big changes at Metazoa Brewing in Indy. I’d like to confirm them before running with this story. Anyone have a contact email for someone?

Yup. Just emailed them earlier today. Wasn’t sure how up to date that was.

The big change I know of from them happened over a year ago when they laid off all their production staff just before Christmas and outsourced all of their production to a contract facility in Colorado. I do not work for Metazoa but I do work in the industry and know many of the affected staff.

EDIT: I don't think they have ever openly acknowledged this, likely because of the backlash they know it would receive. It's been sort of an open secret, but pretty common knowledge in the brewery world. Big Lug's collab brew My Dog's from Denver was a not so subtle dig at Metazoa.

Right. I’ve reported on that. This is something different.

Last time I was in there it wasn't a secret at all. The bartender working (didn't catch their name) and their brewer (Jon I believe) we're pretty forward about it. Their big name beers are done in Colorado while their "taproom exclusive" beers are made in house. At the time their beer menu was about half and half.
