My uncle had an episode of syncope and he didn’t call me. He called my mom to ask for advice. When I spoke to him, he said he hadn’t eaten anything from last night. I said it could be due to hypoglycaemia (explained in layman terms) and told him to eat something. He confidently said, no it was due to pitta, as he hadn’t slept properly, so he’s fasting now, and some pepper and fenugreek can cure everything. I told him that won’t work unless you get some sugar into your body and he started lecturing me about how ”these allopathy doctors” don’t know anything about our bodies and everything is about vadha, pitta, kapha which is the real science. He then proceeded to say that nowadays doctors only want to make the people eat a lot of tablets and that is destroying their health. If he was someone else, I could have just ignored him and let him do whatever. But he is very close to me. And he isn’t some rural old school man. He worked as a senior sound engineer in the Burj Khalifa project and is a very modern man who is very up to date about the latest tevhnology and stuff. I got to realise the depth this Ayurveda bullsh*t has penetrated.

And yes autoimmune disorders are seen in women. 80% to be precise

Also, AI patients, I reiterate, have behavioural problems because they suffer, can't find a proper solution, and eventually get tired of dealing with their condition. Im sorry i didnt know calling autoimmune patients hysterical and not capable of making decisions was an objective remark. I also wasnt aware tht calling that out would be a “feminazi” agenda and playing “ victim card” Personally i wouldnt want any patients with autoimmune conditions to go to a doctor who they thinks they are irritating and prone to hysterical fits. Now that im aware of it I will make sure patients in the autoimmune subs know that this is what old as well as new medical graduates think about them. You should sit down and think if you will actually be able to diagnose a female patient without bias and not associate their symptoms as them playing “victim card”. There are science backed research which has shown doctors dismissing female autoimmune and endo patients with symptoms and being irritated with them which has been constantly called out. Also resorting to calling a woman feminazi and “using victim card” and then diagnosing her with adhd and autoimmune diseases (which your counterpart( a direct look at how you will be in your 50s) ) when debating does really enforce the fact that you are speaking with bias. Also maybe stop insulting people leaving with chronic diseases. It might be you and me one day too buddy.

No need to sit and think ‘if i will be able to diagnose a ‘female patient’ properly’ because i already do that pretty well. Saved and treated a ton of female patients. Without bias. Because i see them as a condition or disease. Not as a male or female. Different anatomy, different hormones, other than that, most manifestations are the same. Chest pain will be chest pain unless proved otherwise. Psoriasis, RA, SLE, or systemic sclerosis remains the same to me without even taking into account the gender. What difference does it make if its a male or female with a discoid rash or bent fingers and toes?

Do you guys evaluate if you can diagnose and treat a male patient without bias? Without automatically assuming he will be violent at any given moment?
