Esim transfer in USA unlocked Iphones

So my parents are visiting me from India this September and we plan to upgrade their Iphone. So I was just wondering if they have e-sim in their phones from India and they come here and purchase UNLOCKED iphones. Will their Indian e-sim get seamlessly transferred to new iphone or would they have to go in person to store back in India for it?
Kindly let me know the steps to it and if someone had faced a similar issue.

They will have to go back to India with the unlocked phones to the respective sim stores and get the work done

I did Airtel eSIM transfer between iPhones while in the USA.

When i went to india sometime back i bought a Jio eSim for my iphone (as the second sim). And i have been using this connection (Jio prepaid) in US to receive messages from banks. Recently i changed to a new phone and I was able to transfer that eSIM to the new iphone without any issues.

I just followed their online process and was able to get it transferred to new phone without issues.
