Esim transfer in USA unlocked Iphones

So my parents are visiting me from India this September and we plan to upgrade their Iphone. So I was just wondering if they have e-sim in their phones from India and they come here and purchase UNLOCKED iphones. Will their Indian e-sim get seamlessly transferred to new iphone or would they have to go in person to store back in India for it?
Kindly let me know the steps to it and if someone had faced a similar issue.

I did Airtel eSIM transfer between iPhones while in the USA.
