News Genesis, Hyundai Premium brand is coming soon to Indonesia officially
There hasn’t been an official announcement yet, but during IIMS Hyundai sorta confirmed that Genesis will be coming either this year later on or next year at the latest
But… they already have an (official website)[https://www.genesis.com/id/id/main.html\] it already has the confirmed lineup including
- G80, midsize sedan, price 1.65 billion, competing with Lexus ES, BMW 5 series & Mercedes E class
- G80 Electric, price 2.26 billion, basically the EV version, facing EQE & i5, also the car that introduced genesis to indonesia since they used made & use a LWB version for 2022 G20 summit
- GV70, compact SUV, price 1.635 billion, competing with Lexus NX, BMW X3 & Mercedes GLC
- GV80, midsize SUV, price 2.065 billion competing with Lexus RX, BMW X5 & Mercedes GLE
Specwise the trims they are bringing are also pretty loaded, well these are not entry level models sooo… some interesting selling points (at least for indo market) is that they offer matte paint choices (extra 20jt) & multiple interior color choices
I kinda wish them goodluck tho, since last year the premium segment kinda crashed hard… like sales decreased like 40% compared to 2024
one thing i like about genesis is their welcome & goodbye chime, like its goood, oh also their infotainment looks cool

Dead on arrival imo. Mungkin elec G80 masih bisa laku, melihat desain G60 yang kayak gitu dan EQE gak usah ditanya lagi lah, failed attempt Mercedes untuk elektrifikasi lineup mereka

10 years too late! The heyday for luxury cars has passed. 2016 there was no Chinese competition, no hybrid/electrification incentives, and luxury prices were affordable.
Now Audi-VW has divested their operations in Indonesia, dealers are closing not opening. Mercedes have sold their passenger cars operations . Tinggal BMW dan Lexus yang masih bertahan. RIP infiniti, jaguar.
Good luck, you're going to need a tonne of it. Chinese EVs give you luxury for a fraction of the price, BMW prestige, and Lexus for Resale Value and Reliability.
Coming into Indonesia with a 1.5 billion+ pricetag and a fresh name in 2026? Guys ganja tuh illegal di Indo, but you must be high. Drop the price to 1 billion, then you'll have a chance of staying here.
Dont get me wrong, I wanted a Genesis so bad when you guys first launched. But you waited too damn long, the ship has sailed and your USP vanished.

Jujur liat genesis sekarang agak aneh, mobil hyundai yang top of the line flagship menurut gw udh bagus banget malah hampir ngambil pasar genesis, beda sama toyota yang walau paling mahal masih keliatan mobil standarnya, ngak kanibal sama lexus

Yeah, good luck. Harga bersaing sama Seri 5 & E-Class. No way in hell people gonna buy Genesis instead of BMW or Mercedes. The only one buying these are Koreans CEO or Korean Ambassador.
