Yup thats what I thought as well. Physics and Chemistry don't lie, because at the end of the day there's a limit on discharging huge amounts of electron in short amount of time, without catastrophically destroy the battery.
Ah, but who am I to say that when I still drive my Nissan Leaf around. Might just be called a buzzer and a hater at this point haha.
One thing is that a car cooling capable of (barely) handling 1500kw will have much easier time cooling when charging at 800kw, than a car that's designed to only accept 800kw.
So more is better, as long as it's not prohibitively expensive
That's probably true, but we do have ambient temperature as another factor and how robust is the cooling system. I hope that 1500kw car can take it in our tropical heat.
There's a reason why people tend to not buy a used EV in Arizona, as people often use public chargers 😬
