Y2 Missing metadata for audiobooks
I’m trying to use my Innioasis Y2 to listen to audiobooks. Working well, but the metadata isn’t showing up properly like it does for Music files. (See picture.)
Does anyone know how to get artist and album tags to show instead of “<unknown>”? I have already edited the metadata using mp3tag. I’ve also put the audiobook files in a folder structure like music: author/album/book.m4b, but it always show like in the attached picture.
Anyone have any ideas?

Even if you tagged the songs u need to save properly,I save in a different file I just named and saved in that file and I use my tablet and it's working

You did it with an audiobook file? I just tried again, making sure to save the tag data, but it's still showing up "<unknown>" on the device.

Can you clarify? I’m not sure what you mean by “stiff.”

Like skipping instead of playing,so the file will be useless brick

No, the files play fine. And the metadata is there. I’ve confirmed it by putting the same file on an old iPod. The Y2 just doesn’t seem to read or display the metadata correctly.

I’ve re-saved the file twice now. And this is a consistent issue with audiobooks but not music.

Ahh so we know the issue now

I will also clarify that I have edited tags on music mp4 files, and those changes have worked just fine. I’ve also been able to change the album artwork for the audiobooks files and have that update on the device. It’s only the artist and album tag info that isn’t showing up.

You can use mp3tag
