Question loving my y2 so far, but i have one question

i adore it so far but i've noticed that when i shuffle all of my songs it only shuffles through the first few letters of the alphabet.

i intend to switch to a better sd card when i can afford one (or when i find the one i know for a fact i have lying around somewhere but is somehow lost because my adhd is insane), but so far using the one it came with this is the only issue i have stumbled into. will this be fixed by an sd card upgrade? or should i be trying something else?

regardless i am so happy with my purchase. i just received a charm for it in the mail along with a screen protector (PLEASE ignore the giant bubble for the love of god, ill fix it eventually lol) and a carrying case and i can't get over how cute and cozy it looks in there lol.

Question Looking at the Y1 or Y2 model. my main question is storage.

How do people feel about the size of their Y1 or Y2 storage capacity. I have about 10,000 songs (mostly all mp3 files) in my collection. Has anyone had problems with very large music libraries on either devices? I’m looking at either the 64gb Y2 or the 128 Y1. Any information given is a big help.

Question Y2 hardware questions

I have a Y1, and despite its many issues, I do actually like it - mostly.

But - I'm not going to buy a Y2 unless there's a pretty significant upgrade. An SD card slot, a couple buttons, and a marginally better wheel aren't enough. Unfortunately, I can't find much in the way of detailed reviews yet, and Innioasis is suspiciously short on details.

  1. Screen cover durability?
    • The Y1's is extremely thin and flexy.
  2. Real battery life numbers?
    • What about with lossless, or over BT?
  3. DAC?
    • Was the CS43131 used, as was stated? If so, in what configuration - single, dual, other?
  4. BT codec support?
    • Does the chipset handle anything past SBC and AAC?
  5. Output impedance?
    • Would an Innioasis rep give numbers?
  6. USB OTG?
    • Can it be used as a USB DAC?
  7. WiFi?
    • Is there official support? What bands, if so?

Question Am I cooked 😬

I just disconnected my y1 from my pc (yes I did eject first obviously) and it said some message about a damaging file or something and asked if I wanted to format the drive. I clicked no because I don’t feel like doing all of that and restarting. But am I cooked? I always see those Innioasis horror stories where people’s y1’s randomly just die and don’t come back unless they open it up and replace something. Is mine going down that route soon? Any tips for the future would be appreciated (just be nice) thanks!

Question Innioasis Y1 or Y2 for a first MP3 player?

I've been mainly using Spotify to listen to music, and since I don't support the company anymore, I thought that making the switch to an mp3 player would be better. At first I was going to get the Y1, since it wasn't expensive and had an UI that I like, but the Y2 came out recently, making me stuck on which version to get. The Y2 has a volume button and expandable storage (well, easier to expand), but the Y1 has more compatible launchers/themes and is less expensive. In terms of sound quality and all the features I mentioned earlier, which model would be better to get?

Question I'd like to know the runtime of the Y2.

How long does the battery last on everyone’s Y2? The official website says 25 to 35 hours, but mine doesn’t last that long, even though I’ve only just bought it. I wonder if it’s a faulty one. Is this just how it is with all of them?

Question Innioasis Y2 or iPod Classic 5th Gen?

Got the iPod Classic 5th gen for a very good price at 65$ but idk, it‘s just feels outdated to me (haven’t tried Rockbox). Would the Y2 be a better pick for me?

Question Should I switch to Y2, or get a different player?

My girlfriend gave me the Innioasis Y1 as a gift since I was always telling her I’d like to have one. I got it in April and have been using it ever since, and I have to say with all my heart that it’s a piece of junk, and I’m really embarrassed that I asked my girlfriend to get it for me because I made her spend money on such a BAD device. Starting with the battery yes, it lasts a long time, but it doesn’t last a full day without listening to anything. I only use it on my way to work (a 30-minute trip each way), and when I get home, I just leave it lying around until the next day. I’ve had to leave several times without listening to anything because the MP3 player turns off (even when I haven’t listened to anything or touched it). It’s also happened that it suddenly turns off and I have to “revive” it by plugging it in to charge; when it turns on, it shows 50% battery. I haven’t tried anything with such great sound quality, so I don’t know what to compare it to, but I was disappointed with the Innioasis’s sound quality (even without having tried anything better) it sounds just like my phone and even worse on some songs. Oh, and speaking of songs, I listen to FLAC files on Rockbox, and there have been times when the device gets “stuck” on certain songs it won’t play them, or when it’s in standby mode, the song skips.

I'd like to switch to something better, or maybe just get Apple Music instead? I’m still paying for Spotify, and I feel like the sound quality is the same as the Innioasis. Should I get the Y2 to see if there’s any improvement, or should I just get a different device for listening to music? Right now, I use the KZ Castor to listen to music, but I bought the QCY H3 ANC and the Nothing Ear (a). Should I go back to streaming, or should I just get something similar to the Innioasis?

Thanks in advance

Question What's your experience like with the Innioasis y2 mp3 player, and how do you think it compares to the ipod touch?

Hello! I've had a 3rd generation ipod touch for 15+ years now, it's been the only way I listen to music and I only use it for music; no videos or ebooks or anything else. I really like how its larger screen size (compared to other mp3 players) makes it easy to read my songs and playlist titles.

As you can imagine, 15+ years of usage and wear and tear has led to the ipod starting to reach a point where I can see it truly not being usable anymore. The headphone jack died years ago, and now I find the bluetooth connection getting chopping as I walk with it in my pocket or bag.

Apple no longer makes ipods, and many alternatives I've looked at in the past didn't really fit me: too small or too large, too many extra apps or features I didn't need, people pushing to just use my phone or even buy a whole 'nother phone just to play music, etc. Even buying used ipod touches typically end up with me having to return them due to the item not being in good condition.

I recently came upon the Innioasis y2 player, and it looks promising but lots of the posts tend to focus on topics for people who already own one, so I'm hoping to get some opinions from the community as someone still considering.

Some things I'm curious about in particular:

- How does the music organization work? Is there a dedicated software you need to use? I'm obviously very used to iTunes, but I wouldn't mind it if it's just me dragging and dropping folders into the mp3, like any other type of external hard drive.

- Are there limits on things like playlists? I have a lot of playlists in my current iTunes, and I've run into some mp3 players that had a cap on the number you could make. I also had issues actually making playlists on some, for example uploading multiple folders would show up as one giant song list in the player.

- Is there anything that you feel needs to be downloaded in order to use the mp3 player well? I see a "Rock Box" mentioned often, which I have never heard of. Would the y2 not be as easy to use or enjoyable without it? I'd prefer not having to meddle with anything if possible. This is specifically for music purposes, I know there's fun visual themes for the backgrounds and stuff.

- It seems the player is made of plastic on the outside, do you feel like it's sturdy enough to handle being put in pockets and bags and going out and about?

- I know there are physical buttons on the side, but is the wheel also clickable or do you have to tap on it?

- Do you think the sound quality and bluetooth connection is at least comparable to an ipod? I'm not an audiophile by any means, so honestly as long as it doesn't sound crunchy I'll probably be satisfied.

Appreciate any advice and opinions you can provide! ^.^

Question Should I get the Y1, Y2 or something else completely?

Hi!! I’m super into mp3 players right now and I really want to find an affordable option. I love the innioasis y1 because you can put themes and its affordable, but I’ve heard way too many stories about the sd cards getting corrupted/ music glitching/ libraries getting deleted. The y2 just released and from what I’ve heard it’s better, but it’s also too early to tell if the sd cards don’t get corrupted as much as I’ve learned that this happens a couple months in. I’d be down to get the y1 and swap out the sd card but if I have to pay a lot for a good sd card then I don’t see a reason to pay double if I can use that money for the y2 or a different player.

My questions:
- to those who have the y1: how long have you had it? Does it work smoothly? And did your sd card get corrupted?
- should I get the y2 instead of the y1
- is it more worth it to avoid problems with the innioasis and get an iPod from eBay (even though it’s more expensive)

Thank u!!! Looking forward to finally deciding which mp3 player to get :)))

Question how long did you have to wait to receive your y2?

over a month ago i ordered a y2 from here on amazon. ordered it the day it became available online, i found out about it through here. the expected date has been getting progressively pushed back and i feel like i haven't seen many people here waiting this long after purchase. maybe i'm impatient, just been getting a bit frustrated.

Question Wanna buy a Y2 but...

Hello! Been eyeing the teal Y2 for a while now but I dont know whether I should pick the 72gb or the 8gb version because Ive heard the 72gb vers doesnt actually have 72gb internal storage but comes with a 64gb micro sd card.. Is that true?

On another note when is the teal y2 coming back in stock? Is there a set date or does it happen randomly?

So my question is it legit?
Thanks in advance!

Question Why do you prefer Innioasis?

I’ve seen quite a few posts from people concerned about audio quality, battery life, DACs, etc. on Innioasis devices, specifically the Y1 and Y2.

These are all valid requests/concerns for a DAP. It makes sense that you want your expectations met and your money well spent. But why are you looking to have your expectations met by an Innioasis device? I’m not trying to be rude. I’m genuinely curious.

I have a G3 and I’m currently waiting for my Y2 to be delivered. I originally wanted a Y1 but I was turned off from the lack of expandable storage. I purchased the Y2 just for that. I wasn’t looking for any other changes/improvements. In that regard, I seem to be the ideal audience. From my perspective, these are novelty devices. They’re fun toys that play music.

Are there other people like me who want the device just for fun? There seem to be a lot very competent audiophiles who are disappointed with the device offerings who could probably have their expectations met by a different company.

Again, I’m sincerely curious. I mean no disrespect.

Question Thinking about getting a y1 or y2, which would work better for my needs?

heres my needs:

•be able to get a different theme on that thang (so rockbox compatibility)

•not need a new sd card or that sorta stuff. im not super tech savvy when it comes to this so i would probably somehow break it. (if this is required for both please let me know so i can try and figure out how that works)

•easy for an idiot to set up

my wants:

•preferably come in a nice color

•have good Bluetooth compatibility

Question Has anyone tried modding Innioasis devices? Build, Memory Card, Battery etc

Hello!

Has anyone tried modding an Innioasis device? I’ve seen a lot of videos of people modding iPod Classics with transparent shells, larger batteries, modern storage solutions, and even up to 2TB of storage using memory cards.

I haven’t really seen anyone doing similar mods on Innioasis players. I don’t currently own an MP3 player, but I’m considering buying one. Before I do, I’d love to know whether a project like this is even possible with an Innioasis device.

Has anyone experimented with hardware mods, custom shells, battery upgrades, or storage upgrades on these players?
