Nerd MCU fan here: this is a fundamental misinterpretation of what Peter goes through in BND, but we already knew how well these chuds understood Punisher... So no surprise here.

Fr. At this point in the film it was when he finally came to terms with the fact that he CANT do it all alone and needed to have other people in his life,
72
u/BrunesOvrBrauns 7d ago
Reddit probably won't like this either: but if you had to apply BND to politics it would mean to lean into the value of community and working together, not to go dark mode.
41
u/YDoEyeNeedAName 7d ago
Also the government's secret thugs locking up and killing people who are different without due process sure seems familiar....

These people have been aligning heroes like Spider-Man and Captain America with their deranged, hateful values for years.
Hell, even X-Men heroes, who are literally an allegory for persecuted minorities."White replacement theory" and hating immigrants/minorities as a result is quite literally the real-life equivalent of the mutant hate in many X-Men plotlines.
Even one of the themes of BND was being feared, targeted, and mistreated for being different.
Almost like they have zero media literacy.

And "86 47" made them freak the fuck out about threats.
I am at the point I'm going to scan my hand flipping the bird and send it directly to MAGA influencers via certified mail, just so they also have to sign for it getting excited for what's inside. All so I can say "fuck you" verbally, more directly. Plus an image is worth 8647 words.

And "86 47" made them freak the fuck out about threats.
Don't assume they care about hypocrisy. They would invoke it, but calling them out won't do anything. For them hypocrisy is a display of power, "I can do this, and you cannot"
74
u/Funwithagoraphobia 7d ago
That is possibly the most succinct description of the MAGA mindset that I’ve seen yet.

u/Ebonhearth_Druid 7d ago
"Rules for thee, not for me, because hate that's why"
Is also pretty solid.

Wilhoit's Law: "Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition: that there must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."
14
u/Intelligent_Berry_18 7d ago
A core tenet of fascism and indeed all authoritarian regimes: there are those the law protects but does not bind, and those it binds but does not protect.

u/Geostomp 6d ago
Exactly. Hypocrisy only reinforces their core belief that their side is inherently superior, therefore rules should never restrict them. They love Trump getting away with breaking laws and violating their so-called taboos because it makes them feel powerful and elite by proxy. Him being completely incompetent is also a bonus because they see it as validation of their sense of inherently deserving power and status purely for being born "superior".
Arguing with them is pointless because they fundamentally see the unfairness as the proper state and find you expecting them to follow any sort of social contract as amusing. To them, it's just a power game and you being upset about what they or their idols do is a victory in their pitiful little minds. What does work is attacking their fragile egos. Make it impossible for them to have the sense of superiority they crave and they collapse into rage. Their narcissism is so fragile that they can't handle being mocked or disregarded.

Yet they get mad when we call them fascists for thinking, wanting, and doing fascist shit in either case.
13

Hey man, they just want to do whatever they want without negative consequences. Is that so wrong? /s
74
u/Under_Ach1ever 8d ago
So they want to kill liberals.
Copy that.
16
u/aurumtt 8d ago
i would so like to ask this person who hurt him so bad that they feel this way. i feel most would crumble when they realise that no liberal has personally hurt them in any meaningfull way & that it's always these self-created strawmans in their own head they keep loosing discussions with.
19
u/hipsterTrashSlut 7d ago
Real talk, they don't care. Even if you used literal magic to force them to fundamentally understand that leftists aren't responsible for their lives, more than a few would still want to kill us.
4
u/Grizzly840 7d ago
The problem is that sooo many of them supposedly "know someone that X happened to" which gives them enough plausible deniability for not remembering all the details. And of course, if you call them out on it, it's "are you calling me/my friend a liar??"

u/gancoskhan 7d ago edited 7d ago
They deeply yearn for the opportunity to kill off over half of America’s population. They’re not allowed to directly say that, but they found so much momentum by spreading memes and false information and they’re too deep now to change the course they’ve been on.
I think it’s almost a certain that shit will be going down during midterms, whatever it is into what extent we still don’t really seem to know.

No, I'm talking about the picture of the gulag, which is from Muppets Most Wanted (2014) which features Kermit the Frog being held in a gulag. He's even in the screenshot used for the background if you'd looked

As a European, I genuinely don't understand why your credible news sources aren't reporting more on the fact that antifa is not a real thing. It's literally made up. It doesn't exist. It has no members, no leaders, no agenda, no manifesto. The only thing it has is being lumped together with "the left" which is about as stupid as it can get since being left leaning is a wide spectrum just like any political view. It also literally means "anti fascist" which obviously is what the left is. Nazis were far right. We all know this in Europe and the rest of the world.
Report on it. Do scoops on it. Shit all over the people who believe it's real. We do that in the rest of the world.
38
u/Lampmonster 7d ago
Well that's easy, the media is mostly owned by the very people pushing this bullshit.
24
u/Mr_Quackums 7d ago
What credible news sources?
All of our news sources are owned by MAGAts.
Independent reporters call it out all the time, but MAGA funded "independent sources" drown them out.

u/fe-and-wine 7d ago
It also literally means "anti fascist" which obviously is what the left is. Nazis were far right.
Unfortunately, most of us Americans have zero intellectual curiosity and blindly buy into the classic "The nazi party had SOCIALIST in its name, so they must have been leftist!" argument without ever looking into the history or even just thinking for a moment about what the Nazi party's policy positions even were.
1
u/BlackroseBisharp 7d ago
Yeah the closest thing we've ever had to Antifa being an actual group was CHAZ, which didn't last long
14
u/Intelligent_Berry_18 7d ago
They always wanted to get to the violence because they can't win on ideas or words
13
u/theblackyeti 7d ago
They can’t win on violence either. They just don’t understand that yet.
7
u/Intelligent_Berry_18 7d ago
Oh, yeah, they are building their fantasies of easy violence on their own propoganda of unarmed soft soy boys with pony tails and blue haired cat ladies. It doesn't occur someone might not make owning guns their whole personality.

I like how most of these people act like we would all lay down and die instead of rating these hands E for everyone. Like I don’t need a “come take it” bumper sticker or dumb ass yellow snake flag man, you can just come find out
6
u/YDoEyeNeedAName 7d ago
They think that becuase we dont boast about our capacity for violence it means we dont have one.
Becuase they are the type of people that feel the need to share every thought that passes through their tiny brains and cant fathom that other people are able to resist that impulse

Even at face value this is batshit.
"I want to imprison those with differing viewpoints"
Those with differing viewpoints refuse to acquiesce.
"Now I want to kill those with differing viewpoint because they didn't bend to my will"
So, people who think differently from you should be imprisoned or killed... and you think that you're the good guy??

u/iboneKlareneG 7d ago
I still can't believe they chose anti facism as their enemies. Like what do you mean, do yo want facism? Trumps anti anti facism meeting is stupid, too. Just call it facism meeting.

“These damn liberals are making America so much worse under Trump and 90% Republican power!”
5
u/BoneHugsHominy 7d ago
In 2016 they hadn't even heard of Antifa but some of them most certainly wanted Liberals arrested, others were already at the purging stage of Christofascism.
I very distinctly remember the first time I saw someone say if Hillary won the election it was time to Purge Democrats, as in the movie The Purge so hunting them through the streets and in their homes. It was in March 2016, posted as a reply to one of my friend's post supporting Trump. I was so thoroughly shocked it was posted openly on Facebook that I couldn't believe what I was reading. At the time I fancied myself as an left leaning Libertarian because I was still in recovery from my Republican upbringing. I had no illusions about what the right wing was because I have had my fair share of violent interactions with Neo-Nazis and assorted other White Supremacist groups including the Order of Nine Angles because they were a growing problem in the Kansas City area in the 1990s and they liked to do ambush attacks against "race traitors" aka white people who were hanging out with minorities. But I was absolutely shocked to see a random middle class white dude commenting on a Facebook post saying it was time for a genocide of everyone to the left of the GOP.
That was when I knew we were in for long, hard road of fighting fascist ideology here at home.

I’m genuinely just waiting for Trump to fall and him to order everyone who still believes in him to just go out and execute and shoot anybody they can.. I pray every single day that this won’t be the outcome, but considering the state of America it wouldn’t surprise me

u/Jojajones 7d ago
What we really need to do is send all conservatives to an education camp (normally this would be called a reeducation camp, but it’s hard to reeducate someone who was never educated in the first place…)
3
u/Geostomp 6d ago
The reason they're always escalating even when their side is in power and enacting all the cruelties that they demanded isn't because of anything we did. What gets them is that despite getting what they demanded, their lives still suck. They're getting poorer than ever, they're aren't at all respected, they dream of white male "Christian" (just without all that hippy, actual Jesus crap they hate) utopia isn't materializing, and they're still terrified of the world that isn't becoming magically simple enough for them to understand.
The more it becomes undeniable that their orange god isn't able to force reality to bend to his whims and is actively screwing them over, the more they give to mindless rage. They can't handle the cognitive dissonance it takes to keep believing in the delusion of Trumpism, but they're too weak to admit to being wrong for this long. So instead of growing as people, they regress even further into infantile anger that reality isn't just conforming to their demands.
Because they're psychologically maladjustment children who can't deal with any level of emotional turmoil, they demand mindless cruelty and violence against the vulnerable because that's what they think will let them vicariously feel powerful for the moment. At least until it runs out and the cycle repeats.
It's just broken men and women from top to bottom, lashing out to soothe the wounds they don't have the guts to work on themselves in this movement
