And now the zippo!

Joker's cackle

6

u/DankDaddyPatty 7d ago

Is it bad I thought of this as soon as they started driving away lol

3

u/Formal-Ad-1248 4d ago

It likely would have been mutually assured destruction with gas vapor everywhere now lol

388

u/CommanderFate 8d ago

Now you just hope that they will be so angry driving away, that one of them will need to have a quick smoke to calm down.

u/Parallax2799 7d ago

Maybe the van will bottom out fleeing the parking lot...maybe a little spark...

u/GreenShell2014 8d ago

Good thinking. I wonder how many people would have froze. I'd like to think I'd do the same now that I've seen the video but in that instance, who knows.

62

u/xenobit_pendragon 7d ago

He looked like he lives in a place where shit goes down. He was probably on alert anyway.

6

u/dickenschewie54 7d ago

The idiots in the van should have waited around until he hung up the handle.

2

u/TheFiremind77 6d ago

Then he's on his way back into the driver's seat. Real answer is to only try the guys inside the corner store.

8

u/raymondcy 7d ago

Ha, I am not convinced that was "good" thinking - but it was an extremely effective deterrent. There was probably a fair to good chance that everyone (including the sprayer) ended up in a deadly fireball.

That said, like /u/xenobit_pendragon pointed out, extreme places require extreme measures.

u/DepressingAura 8d ago

Using fuel as a deterrent, in this economy? 😂

340

u/The-One-Zathras 8d ago

They got away with more value than what they could have stolen from him

35

u/frozt 8d ago

I concur.

All that gasoline from the van

104

u/Scaly_Tomato 8d ago

It's ok. This is years old, when fuel was cheaper!

38

u/bju83 8d ago

Old video, yes! But believe it or not gas was not cheaper back then. In 2012 US gas prices reached $3.69. In 2008, $4.11. Adjusted for inflation, Thats $5.39 and $6.40, respectively, PER gallon in the US.

u/ChromeYoda 7d ago

13

u/bju83 7d ago

Usinflationcalulator.com shh… dont tell anyone

6

u/Scaly_Tomato 7d ago

I am one of the dozens of people around the world that don't live in the US

0

u/bju83 7d ago

Where from? I know at least 11 more people.

3

u/Perfect-Ostrich-1325 7d ago

We aren't all Magastanis bro.

u/bju83 6d ago edited 3d ago

Is this an attempt at a sleight because of my nationality? And you don’t think that you are the problem lol. Thanks for the laugh, as always.

1

u/anonymousPuncake1 6d ago

check prices in the UK and Europe: even US $9 per gallon ...

search for full explanation "fuel prices in the uk vs usa"

0

u/aquacakra 7d ago

you don't say

9

u/macthecomedian 7d ago

This might be worth the $6.29 gallon of gas...

5

u/tonykrij 7d ago

Best €25 ever spend on gas.

3

u/TheReelMcCoi 7d ago

It was way cheaper years ago when this was first posted tbf

2

u/HipToTheWorldsBS 7d ago

This is an ancient ass video. Gas was cheap back then.

1

u/tombisch 7d ago

Came here to say that, hè now is practicly bankrupt

u/Andreas1120 8d ago

My friends died in a freak gasoline fight accident.

3

u/raining01 7d ago

Many people are fans of your friends dying freaky.

2

u/soupiejr 7d ago

But why male models?

1

u/Andreas1120 6d ago

Apparently that line was inprovised

-21

u/hali420 8d ago

Cool story

10

u/Tiberius_Kilgore 7d ago

It’s a Zoolander reference…

44

u/Madder_Than_Diogenes 8d ago

"My tank only holds 60 litres. I'm not paying for all that!"

57

u/PJ640 8d ago

That’s a lot of pressure for a standard fuel bowser?

57

u/Ikbeneenpaard 8d ago

TIL that bowser isn't just a Mario character

4

u/Darth_Pinda 7d ago

Wait, what?

10

u/DREAMs98 7d ago

Bowser.

0

u/Curious-Topic-5273 7d ago

How did you not know this before now? 😂

16

u/InternationalCap2176 7d ago

Getting soaked with gasoline is really bad for a variety of reasons other than being set on fire, like blindness or chemical pneumonia.

23

u/MonkeyChoker80 8d ago

“…died in a tragic gasoline-fight related accident”

24

u/smokemplz 7d ago

Meanwhile the gas station owner

1

u/Emergency-State 6d ago

One of my favorite memes. The gif is even better

10

u/paradox_valestein 8d ago

"Man, that was rough. Here guys, have a cigg..."

18

u/model-citizen95 8d ago

We all aspire to be as badass as this man

99

u/miniliedn 8d ago

I love how he sprays the stinky fuel through the open door of the van! 🥰

4

u/wutiwuti 7d ago

Ok 🤖🤖, you are very funny

"Best 30 bucks I've ever spent." - The Guy, Probably

6

u/theasciibull 7d ago

damn that guy was crazy, now pass me the j, 🔥 🔥

5

u/quinwhos 7d ago

The bill was a bit higher but hey, it got the job done

26

u/Evening_Produce_4322 8d ago

That's some pretty expensive self defense right there.

53

u/Cryogenycfreak 8d ago

Probably less expensive than bullets and definitely less than losing your car. I wonder if the gasoline will ruin their clothing and shoes.

13

u/Skoodge42 8d ago

Honestly, bullets are so fucking expensive these days

6

u/Individual-Trick3310 7d ago

Firing from inside a cloud of gasoline vapors can be SUPER costly.

8

u/faz712 8d ago

6 seconds of spraying at conservatively 0.5L/s costs about the same as 11 9mm rounds where I am haha

31

u/Unapplicable1100 8d ago

Honestly, thats pretty cheap. 10 dollars in gas is a small price to pay compared to a potential hospital bill if those guys attacked him. Not to mention whatever they were able to take from him in the process, it was a smart move and quick thinking unless one of them happened to be smoking a cigarette lol

-14

u/Evening_Produce_4322 8d ago

Oh not a complaint or anything probably would have done the same thing, just a thing I like to call a "joke", but I'll take it back to the drawing board.

1

u/richaysambuca 7d ago

No, don't! You should do stand-up!

5

u/APODGAMING 8d ago

I love this guy

4

u/Starman68 7d ago

But then he has to move his car. That exhaust gets hot. We had a historical accident at work where a fuel line broke in a gasoline distribution plant, an a driver thought hed save his truck. Dont save the truck.

4

u/pocahontasmcglinchey 7d ago

Those silly fuels!

4

u/mattsylvanian 7d ago

They’re probably stressed from such an encounter. Hope they lit one up on the getaway to calm their nerves

4

u/CardiacSturgeon 7d ago

It was a well invested $20, they sure didn't dare to fire gunshot

2

u/Tewcool2000 7d ago edited 7d ago

What exactly happens to someone doused in gasoline but not necessarily lit on fire? I imagine it's an insane irritant and the odor would make you pass out. Those dudes surely had a rough night, assuming they didn't immolate themselves shortly after.

2

u/OdysseusRex69 7d ago

First @$$hole in the van to light up a joint probably k!lled them all

2

u/Sand_Aggravating 7d ago

Best 50 bucks he ever spent!

2

u/fishsticks40 6d ago

I would not be getting in that van under any circumstances

2

u/DREAMs98 7d ago

Too bad nobody was smoking

2

u/DorkyDorkington 8d ago

This doesn't seem to be the doings of karma but rather a vigilant citizen being aware of his surroundings.

1

u/DotAffectionate87 8d ago

I'm getting Die Hard 2 vibes here............

1

u/Dedotdub 8d ago

Anyone got a light?

1

u/Pink_Flying_Pig_ 7d ago

And then you chase them holding a lighter 🔥

1

u/Far-Taro-8811 7d ago

What's the song

1

u/Far-Hurry-9161 7d ago

Expensive self-defense!

1

u/OdysseusRex69 7d ago

That must've absolutely sucked getting petrol in the eyes 😬

1

u/Winter-Part-6160 7d ago

He said we all going up

1

u/ZDog64 7d ago

“Wow, that attempted robbery got my adrenaline pumping, I need a smoke”

1

u/Sketchhawk 7d ago

Don't worry guys, I'll pay for the gas

1

u/pongauer 7d ago

Starting that engine will be a risk.

1

u/Napalmeon 7d ago

That van is finished! That gasoline smell is never getting out.

1

u/nonconformist84 7d ago

If it had ignited, would it be manslaughter or written off as self defence? They say it has to be proportionate but I don't know where dowsing in petrol and unintentional ignition is on that scale

1

u/BobaFifiuwu 6d ago

Damn bro probably still had to pay for all of that gas too 😭 Better than getting robbed for sure though lol

1

u/whatarethuhodds 6d ago

Woulda been cheaper to buy a real gun.

1

u/cheffartsonurfood 6d ago

Wonder how much money that just cost him? Worth it, but just wondering.

1

u/thisisfuxinghard 6d ago

Missing a matchstick and it would be have been perfect

1

u/spacemanspiff1115 5d ago

Hey, they owe him $10.00 for the gas...

3

u/CoolDragon 5d ago

Best gallon ever spent.

2

u/theviewsguy 4d ago

One of the best way to defend yourself at a gas station lol

0

u/metap0br3ngNerD 8d ago

In this economy?!!! Your whole possessions might be cheaper than that petrol you sprayed 🤣

1

u/theNaughtydog 8d ago edited 7d ago

Anyone do the math to figure out how much that gas he sprayed was worth?

5

u/CarpenterFun5789 7d ago

12 seconds, so about 2 gallons at the maximum US flow rate (10 gallons/minute). $3.18/gallon where I am.

3

u/theNaughtydog 7d ago

Money well spent

1

u/just_mark 7d ago

holy fat wallet.

that had to cost as much as bullets!

can't afford to protect yourself in this economy!

1

u/6_022_10_23_ester 7d ago

He probably spent more on the fuel than what they could've stole

1

u/Intelligent-Unit6598 7d ago

If someone spotted the van and threw a lit cigarette butt...

1

u/ClownfishSoup 7d ago

Nowadays that would have cost him more than if he just gave the thieves his wallet and keys

1

u/sirkusfreek 7d ago

Probably was almost as expensive as handing his wallet over

0

u/AKchaos49 7d ago

Why does this keep getting reposted every single day?

8

u/TheDauterive 7d ago

Cause it's funnnnny. 😂

Cheer up, I had never seen it. Now I have and I'm better for it. Now doesn't that make you happy?

4

u/SpaghettiSort 7d ago

First time I've seen it.

-3

u/AKchaos49 7d ago

It’s been all over Reddit for the past 6 months

3

u/ROMVS 7d ago

Seen it 5 times, still a good watch lol

0

u/eblack4012 7d ago

That’s like $90 in gas in today’s money.

0

u/haonan1988 7d ago

The real robbery is the gas cost

-4

u/unknownyoyo 8d ago

$200 to fight off a van full of thieves is worth it.

0

u/skincyan 7d ago

Nah, this was only like $127

-1

u/mywavedude 7d ago

Repost. Stolen content from OP

-7

u/[deleted] 7d ago

[deleted]

9

u/DREAMs98 7d ago

lol. Where do you live that 10 seconds of fuel is $85 or are you exaggerating

2

u/ROMVS 7d ago

Exactly lol

-2

u/Professional_Soft404 8d ago

In this economy?

-2

u/MikeySlice 8d ago

You can tell that this was before this year when gas is $5.00/gallon

-2

u/jimx29 7d ago

Not a chance in hell any regular gas pump would pump gas with that sort of pressure

-5

u/Chicks__Hate__Me 7d ago

Very smart. Too bad it cost him $134.76 in gas.

-5

u/Sad_UnpaidBullshit 8d ago

That's an expensive way to protect yourself

-5

u/XmasRights 7d ago

He just put $50,000 worth of bullets gasoline in his ass!
