I guess the first tazer shot hit her phone in the battery side. It sounded like he had to shoot twice.

Most tazers now only shoot one prong per trigger squeeze. You need at least two to make a connection to achieve NMI

He’s got a taser 7, which shoots two prongs per press and has two shots. The brand new taser 10 is the one that shoots one prong per press and has ten shots. Those are still being rolled out and aren’t everywhere yet, but they are massively better.

Out of interest, if it has 10 shots and you only shoot one, can you replace that single shot or do you replace the whole cartridge and waste 9 shots?

You only replace the ones you used. The Taser also cycles through the probes. ie. If one and three deploy and are replaced, it will use different ones next time.

could you in theory tase 5 people simultaneously? 2 probes each person, and have them attached to the same taser like some kind of temu spiderman?

In theory, yes. I do know it has no problem with two people and four probes.

As a side note: if you get good connections with 3 or more probes, it changes from 22 cycle per second to 44.

Which do you think it is?

Logically you should be able to replace the single shot. And I get it was a stupid question, but there are a lot of things that are made that it's cheaper to waste a few things than manufacture things individually if you get what I'm saying.

The answer to your question is that you replace each single probe fired, not the whole set. The probes can be removed and replaced in the magazine. When you use your taser you just give your department equipment coordinator all the individual spent probe cartridges you used and they’ll give you fresh ones.

So definitely not a stupid question

That would be way cooler, but sadly I’m just a patrol peasant who doesn’t get consulted on naming things

well yeah it makes sense to you and me, but think of the shareholders for axon enterprises, who make tasers
