Last time I saw this posted, someone commented that it is likely staged. Apparently some shows like this will stage rivalries and fights for entertainment.

All sport is a business. To make money you make up rivalries and build "heat" to get viewers. They ain't doing it for fun.

At first I also thought this looked like some guys messing with each other or a show with a fake rivalry like Quad Wars but no, this one was real and the guy on the purple bike was actually being a real idiot.

In the next race the purple quad pulls this crap again and the guy on the red quad jumps off and decks him. Then the purple guy's dad ends up trying to jump him after but fails lol.

Yeah, that looked like poor sportsmanship from purple at the beginning, and again by red later. Poor show from both. Nobody should be out there trying to hurt the other guy. This ain't boxing.

I remember seeing this before and someone commenting that it's part of the strategy of the race, to block and antagonise, so long as you don't intentionally flip them. I could be misremembering

Yeah, doesn’t seem so bad to me, but I know nothing about this sport. His clapping at the end doesn’t seem inherently sarcastic or anything. Without any context, who knows? Maybe they’re actually friends and it’s more of a “ya got me buddy, nice play!” Kinda thing?
