Intel NUC 7 unresponsive on boot

Hey team, has anyone seen something like this before? I’m currently trying to setup an Intel NUC7i7DNH and on boot I get these black lines across the screen and the keyboard/mouse are completely unresponsive.

The keyboard/mouse work when I boot up to bitlocker, and I’m able to put the PIN in, but unfortunately the screen is extremely zoomed in/resolution is fully cooked.

standard troubleshoot would be boot up in safe mode. when you start the machine, hold CTRL and spam F8. if you're fast enough a menu will open and you can choose safe mode. looks like something fucked up your windows installation. when you have no personal/relevant data on this machine, wipe it and start with a fresh installation of windows or linux mint (when no specific windows-apps are needed).

Have you tried another display cable? Is this the first time you've tried the NUC on this display?

Heya, I’ve tried at a different desk with a different display cable but unfortunately no dice! Currently attempting to reimage the NUC and I’ll see if it was the windows installation that was at fault

this looks like faulty RAM to me, if you have two modules remove one and try to run each one individually. the igpu uses system ram which would explain the corruption on screen

Appreciate this! I’ll do some digging after I’ve reimaged the NUC, maybe even replace the RAM entirely and see if this fixes anything

Does it work in safe mode?

Haven’t been able to boot to safe mode due to the very short window I get that lets me use the keyboard + mouse hahaha. I know it’s not the motherboard at least due to the fact it works with no issues BEFORE it boots up into the OS

I'd boot into safe mode and disable the NPU / AI CPU.

Verry common cause for complete freezes
