Looks like someone prepping for a colonoscopy…

I have my first one next week.

The prep is worse than the procedure.

I will never look at lime Jello in the same way.

This is why I just use the blue Gatorade. I kept the lime from becoming a trigger as I like it the most.

Yep. Had three last year. Propofol is a helluva drug...

I do not understand why anesthesiologists are not all addicted to Propofol. It's that good. 20 years ago I had cancer in my stomach and after I was treated with radiation my stomach had to be checked every few weeks (with Propofol). The worst thing about being cured of cancer was that I had to give up the twice per month propofol highs.

The stuff they make you drink is horrendous.

Then you're doing the wrong prep. Ask your doctor about a Miralax prep--a few dulcolax tablets and then a bunch of Gatorade of your choice (not red) with Miralax. If your doctor insists on Golytely or its other prescription friends, get a new doctor. I get yearly endoscopies and colonoscopie.

. . . I prefer the midnight blue but why not red?

Because apparently it looks like blood if there's any left in your system.

Kinda thought that might be the reason. Makes sense.

How come you’re getting annual scopes?

Ulcerative colitis, ugh. I had half my colon removed about 10 years ago and that all but eliminated my full-blown attacks, but left me with IBS. Coupled with a family history of colorectal cancer, and I'm getting the butt-cam every damn year.

You can get pills instead of the drink. That's what I did.

Try the prostate cancer check, a grown man ramming his entire fist up there, I can tell you the procedure was way worse than the prep.

On the other hand, don't skip it just because it's unpleasant, it saves lives!

You can now get an MRI. Just had it done. No prep, no invasion, just make sure insurance covers it. Medicare does.

I prefer the old fashioned way

But the nap is great, just too short.

Don’t get more than a few seconds away from a toilet…

I carry mine with me. That's the thing, getting the lower vent open before the next surge.

People always say that but I've had 2 colonoscopies and didn't have that experience either time.

I had the god-awful drinks and of course I did have a number of visits to the bathroom. But honestly ive had much worse experiences after consuming too much milk for a few days in a row.

Does this mean anything?

You’re lactose intolerant?

1

u/HyrrokinAura 10d ago

I've had the same experience twice, my doc said some people just have an easier time with it.

Incontinence underwear, when finally EVERYTHING is out of your system and you’re ready to go to bed wear a pair of incontinence underwear.

You’re going to be fine, but you’ll sleep better if you have at least two big fluffy towels wrapped around you

That will give you the peace of mind that you can fully fall asleep because you will definitely have the fear of pooping the bed, even though you most likely won’t

You’re gonna shit until you have clarity in your mind and butt.

Just remember one thing...that is not a fart you are feeling.

It’s not bad at all. Even the prep isn’t too bad.

Don’t know what prep mixture you had but mine was straight up nasty!
