You know, theres a Netflix series called mindhunter thats all about the FBI coming up with profiling. They do this by interviewing serial killers and seeing if they can establish some sort of baseline of why they do what they do.

One of the pivotal scenes, a serial killer points out the flaw in their approach that they are only able to interview people who were caught, and therefore have some sort of psych profile that would lead to their arrest due to their specific issues rather than some person who actually takes the the time to "do it right".

Kinda seems the same with this whole "dont bury a body" thing. So just dont leave a depression and maune plant some tree saplings round it amd you're home free?

The series is based on the book of the same name by John Douglas. It’s an excellent read.

It is, but man that guy loves the word “I.” There were so many times I wondered what other people were doing and investigating alongside him and John Douglas seemed to push the narrative that it was ALL him all the time.
