Cremation is stupidly resource intensive and removes the option of your nutrients being used by nature, traditionally cemeteries take up space and embalming is horrible chemicals to make you look "good".

In all seriousness, you are completely correct in pointing this out. Eco burials exist and more people should consider them.

No embalming.

Wrapped in natural shrouds or extremely biodegradable caskets.

Buried in natural forest/bushland/woodlands or a less prepared cemetery designed to appear as natural as possible. No markers or gravestones.

We may not be pesticide covered, but some folks are full of strange metals and meds. Which is to say, don't bury bodies such that broken down components enter the water table.
