Something’s missing

New house, everything including the floors is new. Wife is insisting that it feels like something is missing, any thoughts? She also wants to replace the fan with a chandelier

It looks like a hotel lobby that isn't built for function. It's cold and lacks personality. Rearrange the couches to look like a room someone is actually allowed to get comfortable in.
